I still have that. We got it as a hand me down. My daughter likes building it and watching it go.
The latest call of duty etc is fine if you want (haven't had time for that stuff in years), but....EVERY kid should spend some time on an "Adventure"

As we are clearing things out for a new roof, Ill grab them and post pictures....Mostly Toys and Games in really good condition from the 60s....
Should be a couple weeks.....
Several but I remember this one (see below) and another that was a yellow weight lifter. I think they are from the early 60's. Wacky packages had many of the series years ago when I was young.

I'd like to see what you have Art and see what looks familiar from my childhood.

Oh man I had that one, weren't there a bunch of different ones. I painted mine.
Some of you guys who still have your 30-40-50 year old toys sound like you have a little bit of "hoarder" in your blood

Do your Pit cards have holes in them like ours do from slamming them on the bell?
I dug this guy out of my mother's attic a little while ago, a Christmas present from 40 years back. Surprisingly enough, I put some batteries in and it fired right up. I could still remember how to program it: "Forward 4, Right 45, Hold 1, Fire Cannons 3, Reverse 1..." Hell, the electronic sounds are better than what's in my Paragon, and that came out a couple of years later.
BTW, my cat was not amused.
Legos, micronauts and stompers were the top 3 for toys,Commodore 64,Atari 2600 and nintendo nes original for games!
Matchbox was a big one for me. I have been collecting Matchboxes since I was 4.
This display is circa 1969 and I remember it when I was 5 or 6 when I went to the dime store. I found this one on ebay a few years ago. It came with the original box and the motor works great. I like to turn it on just watch it spin and remember what it was like to be 5.
Seems to me there was a rare matchbox car that sold for really stupid money several years ago. Like 10 or 20 thousand. ...Maybe it wasn't matchbox but I remember it being really expensive.
Anyone else watch The Toys that Made Us on Netflix? It's a documentary series about what went on behind the scenes with various famous toy lines. Very entertaining. Can't wait for another season.

Yeah, i thought one of the most interesting parts were the relative differences in enthusiasm, sleeziness, etc. in the people from the different companies. You could really tell the guys from Kenner were fans at heart and loved what the were doing, while the people from Mattel were just sitting around trying to figure out how to exploit the mind of a 5 yr old. Hasbro seemed somewhere in the middle.
A lot of divas in the toy design business. In that respect, the show reminded me a lot of The Secret History of Comics.

Just found that on netflix the other day....I HAVE to check it out!
Thanks for the reminder about it!

Quoted from mac622:Also ordered one of theses from the back of a Boy's Life magazine in 70's. Got so much mileage from this thing!
