Those battling tops have been reinvented so many times it's not funny! Now they are "Beyblade" and $10 a pop!
I also had "spinjas" in the late 80s, same damn thing!!
I was just talking to my son about that Evel Knievel motorcycle - I also had a CHiPs one of Pancho (I think?)
Quoted from dirkdiggler:Went to a estate sale this weekend and found these oldies but goldies.
Hey kids, here's a tube of sticks. Enjoy!
Only 1 thing worse than a tube of sticks......
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:Only 1 thing worse than a tube of sticks......
Aykroyd is the best. Highly underrated imo.
I also got tons of Disney books and anyone remember these? 45 record books? I must have a 100 of them. $5 for the whole box!!!! I hear cash register bells. Lol.
Quoted from Azmodeus:Still missing those micronauts.
I still have mine. Although, a lot of the parts that go to them are broken.
I lived with the Girder and Panel set, but never saw the Water Hydraulic one.....
We would build cities, my brother and I, during the Winters in NY.
White city Blocks, Lincoln Logs, Girder and Panels....
In the true nature of opposites, Id build all day, and my brother would bring in his
Army men and Tanks, and destroy my city, and we would get into a fight requiring mediation
and punishment from Mom!
I advanced on to Thimble City......Who wouldnt want this toy after seeing this commercial by Remco!
( I have been cleaning up around home and have a couple hundred old toys....Old golf, board games, etc,
if anyone is interested in purchasing, please reach out.....the would be priced more than fairly)
So many cool toys the chemistry sets, stuff ordered from monster magazines, a Matt of thunderbombs, hanging GI Joe out the fifth story window lol (poor Joe)gas powered cars and planes, electric Aurora slot cars, Lionel trains ect..... I'm sure it's been said before but Evel Knievel stunt cycle was the best !
Quoted from DanQverymuch:I recently recalled having dreams of opening my own burger stand where the neighborhood kids would just have to give me their money using this:
That's just freakin awesome!
So much more fun than a simple easy bake...
Here kids! Place this raw ground up meat on a light bulb and feed it to your sister! Tomorrow we get to see if she got sick on raw meat you pulled out from the box from last week
Today you couldn't even offer a plastic burger with an led light without concern. Lol.
Good old days of FUN
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:Without searching, can anyone name this toy from memory?
I had this one but the brazilian/portuguese name was "PEGA-PEGA"!!!!!
Quoted from AlexSMendes:My first pinball:
Better playfield art than many Stern machines.......
Quoted from str8cash:Remember when cereal had toys in the box? These were cool the first throw or 2 before they hit the carpet and didn't work anymore.

Yes!!! Wacky Wall Crawlers!!!
finally finished assembly on restoring my childhood (well, teenage childhood) motorcycle this past week. still have to fire her up and adjust things like the brakes, clutch and idle, but the assembly is now complete
IMG_4826[1] (resized).JPG
I even managed to find an period correct 1971 NOS license plate for it
IMG_4827[1] (resized).JPG
the red one is the one my brother just finished restoring (I couldn't have done this without his help). for this one, he put in an auto-clutch so that he can take his dog with him on rides

hey, if the dog can't shift his own gears while riding a motorbike...well then I'm just not that impressed! haha, great job on the resto's tho!
Quoted from mrclean:Rock Lords... or most known as a rip of of transformers... hehe.
I guess this is supposed to be a skyscraper turned into a robot. But the entry door on the skyscraper sort of makes it look like a robot with a hard-on. I guess it is another one of those things where the artist puts one over everybody's head.

Beautiful job.
Quoted from girloveswaffles:Found this last week at Goodwill
I started with the 30-in-1 from Radio Shack. Picked up another one a few years ago and replaced the battery holder with a connection to a wall transformer. Figured my kids would get a kick out of it.
It's still sitting in its box. :/
In my case, the favorite toys were Transformers. When I wasn't messing around with my TI-99/4a.
Quoted from AlexSMendes:My first pinball:
Wait, at the bottom of the playfield, is that a LION? MAN!!!
Quoted from girloveswaffles:Found this last week at Goodwill:
And it's complete
... but it wouldn't be Pinside if I didn't find a problem we're familure with:
I can't thank my older brother (who worked at rip shack) enough for getting me one of those as a kid! And for fixing it every time I blew a component out. Lol.
EVERY kid should have an opportunity for something hands on and requiring logic/assembly...especially in today's world.
These days too many throw it away electronic flashy toys, not enough bad ass stuff where you had to use imagination or brains.

Who needed store bought toys.....we had big cardboard boxs.

Ate dirt clods for breakfast!

We did but we had to ride our bikes 7 blocks to the appliance store, tie ropes around them and drag them home behind our bikes. That was a lot of work for 7 and 8 year olds back then during the hot summer days. Did we have to tell mom where we were going...hell no we just went.
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:I heard Lloyd used to be a Child model for toys.
Isnt this you?
Missiles fire and rockets blast off. There would be a 20 page warning book on that toy now.
