Quoted from DanQverymuch:

Looks like they stapled them to the card in the wrong place, that circle of lightning bolts looks awful lonely.

They probably put a new hire on for staple duty and he missed the mark

Gotta be out of the 50s or very early 60s. You see the magnet holding an ashtray to a steel dash. Sometime around '65 the car makers started installing vinyl dash pads.

When we were kids, my youngest stepsister Mary could turn her eyelids inside out. It made her look like a possessed zombie. She could also fit her entire fist in her mouth. No one else in the household could achieve these particular feats of skill.

So I saw the same Vendor that had the mugs and glasses at the Comic Con Revolution Ontario this past weekend.

I got one of the "Uncola" glasses, as well as a 1984 Olympics McDonald's coffee mug like this one:

She didn't have these at Wondercon as well as some of the other pieces she had at Ontario.

I remember eating my first box of Captain Crunch. It was one of those restaurant size cereal boxes that was sent in the mail. I was 10 years old.

I do not eat CC regularly but a box every once in a while sure tastes good

Something else on its 60th Anniversary is Bond. James Bond.

I checked United States Naval Academy records and there is no record of anyone named Crunch attaining the rank of Captain.
While I was at it, I could not find any record of a Captain Kangaroo either.

How about Col. Tom Parker?

Quoted from littlecammi:

It's not "Captain" Crunch, anyway! It's "Cap'n"!!!

Back in the day, it was even crunchier than it is now, in order to "stay[s] crunchy, even in milk!" My sister and I would see who could get the longest strip of, um, mouth roof material (it's not really skin, is it?) to hang down from the roofs of our mouths. Good times.

I LOVE Cap'n Crunch! After tasting at Planet Hollywood, we make a chicken breading, and fry up Vap'n Crunch Chicken Strips!

https://topsecretrecipes.com/planet-hollywood-chicken-crunch-copycat-recipe.html

Cap'n on ice cream is good too)

Of course, growing up, I spent a year dreaming, plotting, and saving for this premium.

The roof of my mouth hurts just thinking about eating it. Crunch Berries is my favorite.

Does anyone remember a magic box type toy from late 70s early 80s. It was like the long John silver meal box but this was sold in stores not a meal. It was a box decorated like a treasure chest flat and printed on all sides. I have asked before I think but I have to ask again.

I know I have asked because I believe here is where the long John silver meal was suggested.

Probably 1-2 years earlier than this and not a meal toy.
If you can help thanks. Lost things plague my mind. Until I find them…

This one of my all time favorite childhood toys! It needed to be dark for it to project the ghost image target on the wall or ceiling.

I picked up this 1972 draw poker game from a free pile at the curb.
The old made in the USA batteries in it with 9201 and 9204 date codes are still good.

I forgot about Ghost Gun! We had one and had a lot of fun with it as I recall.

My parents had a copy of this painting on the living room wall. Except, it had no glass and was extremely yellowed from nicotine staining, in case it wasn't creepy enough already.

I'll say. The artist, Robert Addison, has several other similar works.

I was astonished to find this one at a thrift store, nicely framed and matted, for under $10! It's a keeper, but apparently it could bring a couple hundred on eBay.

I remember having this Easy-Show Movie Projector when I was a kid. One neat thing about it was that you could play the movies in reverse by turning the crank backwards. There was one scene where Herman Munster was eating something. In reverse, he would spit out what he chewed and the food reassembled back into its original form. Great fun for an 8 year old in 1965.

I agree it’s a keeper. Needs to be on the wall.

Well not necessarily a toy, but definitely nostalgic from our childhood if you were an 80’s kid like myself.

I took the plunge and purchased a restored animatronic Billy Bob from the Rock-Afire Explosion band of Showbiz Pizza last fall that I have on display in our store. He does move sing and talk just like we remembered. Soon after others came out of the wood work and offered me other parts & props of his set and I’ve now acquired his stage partner, Looney Bird as well. Just finished construction on a permanent stage for their residency at FUN! in the back of our showroom for customers to come and see.

We’ve had several Rock-Afire Explosion fans come from all over to see them in their former glory….. So…if you’re ever in the area. Stop in the store and say hi, play some pinball and see Billy Bob & Looney Bird.

I love it, wish I lived near you. Great work. It can't be easy restoring old rubber air hoses and stuff. When you get the whole band let us know!

I never saw the Wonka remake but I do recognize Willy Weasel from Willy’s Wonderland. It was actually a ok movie.

I would recommend it to anyone who has been to a Chuck E Cheese type pizza place with an animatronic band and also enjoy horror movies.

If I remember correctly a Pinsider customized the pinball machine that Nick Cage plays in the film.

I learned to read before Kindergarten, and could often be found reading Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge comic books in the john.

One time my parents were so fed up with me hogging our only bathroom that they banned comic books from the bathroom entirely. Well, I continued to spend an inordinate amount of time in there (get your minds out of the gutter, this was still Pre-K!), so they asked what I was doing. "Reading," I replied.

"But we took away all the comic books."

"I know, I'm reading Reader's Digest!"

Then they had me come out and read some of it to them, to their surprise.

Anyway, those comic books were from the Carl Barks era of Disney comics, and his clever humor permeated his stories and laid the groundwork for my offbeat sense of humor. My little sister as well.

Over the next several years we graduated to Mad magazine, eventually followed by National Lampoon. We also just about wore out a George Carlin LP we had, his "Take Offs and Put Ons," which was recorded before his counterculture transformation. At age 12, I got his "Occupation: Foole" record for Christmas, my parents being unaware of his having gone blue. I got to listen to it once before it got ungifted and put away for a few years! I did get it back eventually.

But the most profound influence on me was that of Monty Python's Flying Circus, which began airing on some PBS stations when I was 13. We had a TV antenna with a rotor, and we would turn it south to pick up the Milwaukee PBS station after the Green Bay affiliate decided the show was too racy for them. We audiotaped some of the episodes as well, with the microphone picking up our howls of laughter too, and we listened to those cassettes a lot, even after we forgot what was going on during the non-verbal sections, especially Gilliam's cartoons. It was a revelation finally seeing those again on DVD, and now it seems it's permanently on Netflix.

Here we are almost 50 years later, and my brain is still just as prone to silliness as ever, thanks to those wacky Brits. Even now, I'll just let the shows run as background noise while I'm futzing around the house. It never gets old.
