That was cool bb gun, my buddy had one but I hated trying to pull the barrel to cock the mechanism
Quoted from pinworthy:That was cool bb gun, my buddy had one but I hated trying to pull the barrel to cock the mechanism
I had a lever action one. Loved that thing.
Quoted from xsvtoys:You had a stick? You were lucky. We used to DREAM of having a stick to play with.
My Tyco slot car tracks, I had zero gravity cliffhangers, the GI Joe set, and others. I still have tons of track and cars left.
Also was a huge Transformer and GI Joe fan, had every GI Joe figure and accessory made the first year because my grandfather hit the lottery and hooked me up. Most of the GI Joe was lost, all of the transformers were lost as well.
I also miss the Tyco RC cars, like the Turbo Hopper, Bayou Bandit, Typhoon, and the Nikko Dictator (front and rear engines) was fun and so was the Radio Shack Golden Eagle which ripped up the grass from it's super powerful motor. I don't have any of those left either, unfortunately.
I also loved my train sets, all HO, mostly Tyco, including one I still have from the year I was born.
And I spent a ton of time on many different Mongoose BMX bikes, I still have my '79 competition racing frame, my 86 Stylist and 86 Decade Pro.
Transformers for me - going through a little bit of a renaissance with them along with my son, who is heavy duty into Star Wars and Transformers (everything old is new again!) We've been checking out the Japanese TFs which are - unbelievably - superior to the US ones. Think Zizzle is to US Transformers as W/B is to Japanese TFs. Hella expensive though. Whew!
Quoted from flynnibus:Speaking of slot cars
A little obsessed with GI Joe, were we?
Quoted from flynnibus:Death Star baby
Woo Hoo! Christmas gold!
(I think we had the same TV.)
I forgot about the original Laser Tag... And my Hot Wheels / Matchbox cars. And Atari... We really had it good growing up. Now all the toys are junk it seems.
Quoted from SirScott:A little obsessed with GI Joe, were we?
Jump forward to today SirScott, and flynnibus seems like a normal well-adjusted pinball enthusiast with 8 pinball machines in his current collection compared with your 3 times that amount at 24 machines. Like many of us, it seems like you are better at collecting pinball machines than selling them, at the moment.
Nice collection you've put together SirScott.
Greatest Christmas toy ever. German made castle my mom found for me circa 1969. My dad had it all set up under the tree for me . . .Gallons of plastic blood were spilled by hundreds of gallant knights trying to take this castle, which by the way, had an actual dungeon you could boot the losers down . . . Only realized a couple of years ago that this was accidentally thrown away when we moved. My son inherited this and played with it though, so it got a lot of good use.
Quoted from Pinball-is-great:Like many of us, it seems like you are better at collecting pinball machines than selling them, at the moment.
Guilty as charged. But all of my machines are for sale.
This might be in here somewhere already I mean there are 18 pages but I remember "Battleship" the game and then the next year it came out with batteries and they would call out "YOU SUNK MY BATTLESHIP" man to be back there again.
Quoted from ENDOFLINE:kungfucop ... love that crossbows and catapults.... have a set at home that i ocassionally play with the kids
Endofline...Do you double up on the rubber bands to give the shots more power? I guess I never learn and did that as a kid as well as now. Must have POWER!!! Ends up turning the plastic white at the stress points making them crack easily. I bought a NIB (still shrinkwrapped) C&C off Ebay a while back and had to open it to re-live my childhood. Paid a pretty penny and de-valued it right away. But it was worth it.

Do you guys have some of the other battle accessories? Like the Dragon and Battle Ram??
Yeah, I'm a fan of this game too!
Quoted from Schusler:Do you guys have some of the other battle accessories? Like the Dragon and Battle Ram??
Yeah, I'm a fan of this game too!
I never had those accessories as a kid. Those were for the spoiled, rich kids
But I managed to get the dragon and the cyclops around the time I bought the C&C set off Ebay. I never had the battle ram but I vaguely remember the commercial for it.
Quoted from Chum43:A couple more of my favs...
Oooh...I remember the coffin bank. I went thru a couple of those.
Don't ever recall seeing that guillotine tho'. Looks cool. Is it a piggy bank as well?
Quoted from Beemus:And who didn't play with matches?!?
Matches + plastic model tanks and planes = hours of fun. Well, minutes of fun.
Not exactly a toy, but I recently remembered I had this Man-Thing record/comic combo...
I remember being pretty young and the dead clown majorly creeped me out.
Quoted from Beemus:Had boards setup in Huntington Park. Played for hours. And who didn't play with matches?!?
Used to buy these by the gross...!
