I couldn't make it work...
Quoted from o-din:Not that we didn't all try them..
I gotta admit - that doll that drank and peed about an hour later, I had to try that. For science.
When I was around 7, I lived in a dead end, where all the kids my age were girls.
I spent more time then I care to remember playing this:
But my revenge Came soon, as for the Holidays, I got this:
Well, my older brother had to get one too....had to fight "fair" with me,
so I beat him back for my Birthday, by getting this and throwing my bat-a-rang at him.
ahhhh, sibling rivalry.......
We celebrate 56 and 58 this weekend with a Sunday Family dinner, I usually bring him an old toy just
to keep him quiet.
I spent many MANY hours outdoors. Camping as a Boy Scout and hundreds of hours fishing.
Sadly after 10 years as a Boy Scout leader for my boy's troop, my youngest son just turned 18. I'm still heavily involved in the program but I've not been in my tent since last November.... <hannds shakkkking>.

Ohhhhh an Air Blaster, we had one too, loved it. I can still hear the sound it made WAHOOM.
Quoted from hooch333:.found the old toys of mine from 70's.
Carry All. Was a great idea. There was also a NASA version, or missile launch site. There was one for girls as well.
Quoted from hooch333:Not really a toy, but this little am transistor radio kept me company for many hours when I was a kid. I used to hang it from the front reflector of my schwinn and ride around for hours. At night I would put it under my pillow, and listen to old radio shows, when my parents thought I was sleeping.

I did exactly the same thing!
When "American Pie" came out, there was a late night special where the DJ explained the whole song.
I listened to it that way. I think it was 1971...I was 10.
Anyone remember the AM Crystal Rocket Radio? Shaped like a rocket with a small red ball on top connected to a rod that you would slide the ball up and down to change the station. The antenna was a wire with an alligator clip on the end that you attached to a drapery rod on the window. It had a ear phone and I think it used a AAA battery. Yeah that's right I'm a pre transistor baby.
Quoted from electricsquirrel:I had one of those.
It didn't use any batteries. I think it was powered by the radio signal itself.
It only pulled in the very strong stations.

Thanks for posting that. Yeah that's it. I see, no batteries. We listened to 2 local rock stations KDWB and WDGY
Quoted from hooch333:My son and I have been treasure hunting in the crawl spaces of the house today......found the old toys of mine from 70's.
I forgot all about Blip. My brother and I used to love that game. It was kind of like a mechanical version of Pong.
Quoted from electricsquirrel:I had no rest in my ass till my Mom bought me this.
What a piece of junk. None of the "tools" were good for anything.4263c92cc6031ba6c9b18f2799636ed7_(resized).jpg
Had that exact one.. its wild thinking back now how such simple toys were so 'unique' in that we all had the same exact product
Loved My Radio Shack Lab Kit.....but didnt retain anything!
The Tool kit was a big hit when I turned 6.
I needed wood, and had the set taken away from me, when the wood I got came from cutting the legs off
the New Couch!
Im still hurting 50 years later from that Spanking!

Reminds me of an old friend who got one of those lead melting things to cast toy soldiers. He ran out of lead soon after Christmas. Tried other things around the house. The pewter from the Revolutionary War era worked perfect, made great soldiers.
LTG : )

Your kidding. What age did he live to be?
This is a great thread!!
My God, I haven't thought about some of these toys in over 40 years!
Nice memory capsule from days gone by........
That aircraft carrier Hell Yeah, one of my favorite gifts ever! (I was 5 ok)
The picture with the 2 brothers and the toy, time lapse style, now that made me laugh, thats absolutely hysterical (the brother without the toy still looks a little jealous)!!
I also remember those plastic multicolored bubbles that smelled like crap and the melt the plastic sheet to form toy.
I'm going to show this thread to my mom who is in her 70's and she if she can remember some of this stuff.
Oh, I did more....I got a toy cannon with a spring loaded shooter. Maybe 8 or 9, and I lost all the brown, plastic
cannon balls.
I happened to discover a cotton cylinder in the bathroom with a string at the end that fit so nicely and shot far
from the cannon, and the box seemed to have an endless wrapped supply.
I made it worse by learning I could set the end on fire and launch from the sink at my soldiers in the Bathtub,
with flaming Tampon Bombs!
Oh, that one hurt too.....

sounds like you were left alone to much.
It was always a pleasant surprise when those thermoses broke and you would have glass inside your drink at lunch time.
I'm reminded of a kid that brought ice cream in a thermos one day. I'm re-living my shock and jealousy of that moment right now.
I didn't want a lunch box, it was hard enough to carry my books and my marble bag let alone a stupid lunch box. Who had a marble bag and shot marbles? My uncle was a truck mechanic so I always had the biggest and baddest steelies.
Quoted from Mr68:I only had brown paper bags but I saw a few kids that had some variation of these. Cowboys and Indian ones?? Astronauts? I remember the girls had pink ones but cant remember who was on them.

Yup. Had those as a kid. And they came with that wonderful thermos with the glass liner to keep drinks cold (and they worked well), but drop it once, and you got an instant glass shard smoothie.
Quoted from jorro:you dudes are old!
That's OK as long as we get the girls that are your age.

Enjoy it while you can my friend.

Oh, great memories.... This one was so cool!
Quoted from girloveswaffles:Anyone ever have one of these as a kid?
$_35_(resized).JPG
Bought one at a yard sale as a kid. Only has one flipper. Apparently there were several versions of the game (some table top only) with different themes, but Sweepstakes and Interceptor were the only ones with the legs.
I had one... Asked my folks as a xmas gift... Did not like at all.... I posted a picture of it here on thread. No legs..
