My favorite will always be the original old school Raspberry Kool-Aid. Long gone, replaced by crap flavors like “Sharkleberry Fin” and “Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonade.” And please strangle whoever decided to change the color of Raspberry drinks from red to blue, making them look like Windex.

Coke Classic came about because the "new coke" was a total flop. And for some unknow reason the Classic coke did not taste the same to me as the original, ever since then no Coke in my house.

So it is healthful. I wonder if that is different than healthy? Or is it just more of the Madison Avenue hucksters doing their sales and marketing thing?
First ingredient is sugar. Followed by Dextrose. And down farther, hydrogenated vegetable oil. Somewhere in this list should it say where the vitamin C is in the ingredients?

It was all part of a plan to go from sugar to corn syrup.
Mexican Coke is still made with real cane sugar. It is all about the price of U.S. produced sugar.
There are world prices for sugar. And there are U.S. prices for sugar. The U.S. sugar farmers get nice govt. subsidies for their sugar. U.S. sugar is higher priced, as a result. People who are lobbying for minimum wages to go up should hire the sugar lobbyists to lobby for higher minimum wages.
https://www.thebalance.com/markets-for-us-and-world-sugar-809301
" Sugar lobbyists in the U.S. have been able to arrange a sweet deal for sugar farmers in the U.S. The complex details of sugar subsidies are a subject of heated debate as the government guarantees a lucrative price for sugar producers and limits sugar imports from other nations. U.S. companies have to buy U.S. sugar at inflated prices.
EDIT: Ask yourself who, or what, has a vested interest in keeping U.S. sugar prices high?
Let's just say if U.S. sugar prices went down to world sugar market prices, the high fructose corn syrup makers would have to close their doors.
I don't know if it is still this way anymore, but art one time UPS was the biggest lobbyist for having the govt. raise mailing and shipping prices. Every time the postal service would raise its rates, UPS got to jack its prices, too.

Coke made for Passover has real sugar too. Available at many stores during that time. Has a triangle on the side with CRC in the middle. Chicago Rabbinical Commission.

There was an episode of "Foods that changed America" that covered that story and the Cola Wars between Coca-Cola and Pepsico back in the seventies and eighties.
Our mall in Monterey ca had one of these as well as the Thrifty’s ice cream. I believe the orange Julius was a lot more money then Thrifty’s so we had a lot less of them but they were great. They just did away with them from DQ.

Quoted from zr11990:Aaaahh, benzene. We need more of that in our diet.
Haha! Benzene. That reminds me of an old high school buddy of mine named Gary. He got the nickname “The Benzene Bomber” after he broke a glass gallon of benzene liquid next to a lit Bunsen burner in our Chemistry lab class. It poured down into a long sink trough that ran down the center of the room, creating a wall of raging flames. The teacher went nuts with the fire extinguisher. All good fun, nobody got hurt.

Had lunch with a friend yesterday and she mentioned you can no longer buy, Baby Aspirin. It's been renamed, Low Dose Aspirin.

I still miss shooting in Kodachrome. I remember one day early in my first semester at art school I spent over $200 on the stuff. I used to buy those great big bulk packages of it. There's a reason there are cliches about starving artists

My first digital was the Apple QuickTake 100 from 1994. $750 and only 640x480 pixels at "high" resolution. I still have it around here somewhere, but got lazy and pulled this pic from Wikipedia.

“Klaatu barada nikto”
I had a comic book treatment of that story. It was one I had inherited from either my older brother or a cousin. It was from mid-late 60s, or possibly early 70s. Does anyone remember the book and issue? I might like to track down a copy.
