Quoted from electricsquirrel:In 1972 I saved up for most of the summer to buy my first ten speed.
A beautiful yellow Schwinn Varsity! It was awesome, and for a short time, the coolest bike in my neighborhood.
It was the most expensive thing I ever bought in my life (up until that time).[quoted image]
I had a blue Schwinn varsity in the late 80's
took it to college and sold it to buy a Diamond Back mountain bike
Quoted from mooch:I had this round Panasonic radio when I was in high school in the early 70s. I had a white one. It looked cool, but I hardly ever used it.
Remember Flavoradios?
I had the Pistachio one.
radio (resized).jpgAnyone ever make a "Howler" out of a coffee can and some string?
At camp someone made a fairly large one and used it across the lake. Scared the crap out of at least 100 Boyscouts
Quoted from electricsquirrel:Remember Flavoradios?

I never saw those. I remember these. Hamburgers and fries. Makin' out in the back seat.
Quoted from mooch:I had a round white Panasonic radio when I was in high school in the early '70s.
muppet droids (resized).jpg
They look like the offspring of a Muppet and a Star Wars droid.

Yes! Reminds me of a Death Star too.
Quoted from EdisonArcade:Saw these at a thrift shop today. Another toy I forgot I played with.
That reminded me of "Krazy Ikes". Anyone else have these as a kid?

That was one of the toys my grandma had stashed for when us grandkids were dumped on her.
That made me remember, oddly, a bean bag frog she also had in there, which I am off to eBay to look for! Crazy how things we haven't thought of for 40 years can drift to the surface!
Edit: No luck. Might have been handmade. Maybe my sister wound up with it...
Ok, I need help again. There was a toy, that's a roll of paper, today its plastic, on a stick or small sword handle, that when you flick your wrist, it telescopes out say 6 ft. What was it called in the 60s and reappeared around 20 years ago with a new name?
Lloyd?

$8.00 for that stick of what ever it is ! That's a lot of money for one party favor.
Quoted from cottonm4:$8.00 for that stick of what ever it is ! That's a lot of money for one party favor.
$8.00 is nothing when you live in the land of $10K pinball machines and $4K toppers.
Just as much fun. And you are only out $8.00 when you light it and flick it out.

pasted_image (resized).pngQuoted from dmacy:Going out of season, did anyone have bubble lights for Christmas Trees? I loved them as a kid.
I still like them. First time in many years I was working on bringing back Christmas lights in my window at work. Remade the PVC frame. Restrung lights. Was going to pick up some bubble lights, and then got shut down for the holidays. So I never got that far.
They still make them.

Heck yeah! We had those but we also had a couple strings of smaller ones that had more colors.
All through 80s we looked for more of them, but never found 'em.
Just a couple years ago I found similar ones and bought 3 sets. Kinda pricey, but worth it to me.

I had a toy like that when I was a kid called a Whipper Snapper.

Chemical degradation?
So I bought some new ones, and they weren't very "super" in their bouncing.
I wonder what changed?
In 1975-6 I was so thrilled with the rubber post rings we made from White super golf balls, I went on a letter writing campaign to WHAMO to try to make pinball rubbers out of super ball material.
Quoted from bssbllr:Came out in ‘85 was my first energy drink I guess.
[quoted image]
We used to drink these with both hands in the early 90s, especially during copyparties.
Did anyone ever make poppers out of paper. We used to make them but I can’t recall how to make them or what they looked like
There you go. We drove the teachers crazy with these.
We put a Whoopi cushion under the cushion of a teachers seat once and we all got to go to the office
Quoted from zr11990:We put a Whoopi cushion under the cushion of a teachers seat once and we all got to go to the office
They have these now and with random different fart sounds, its hysterical.
I snuck one into a friends dinner party and hid it under the table. Big formal table with about 12 of us. As we gathered his wife pointed us to our assigned seats. There was nothing I could do and she seated me practically on top of it.
In for a penny, in for a pound and I began strategically hitting that remote button. The first few times no one said a thing and everyone just acted polite. Then a long one broadcasted during a conversation lull and I turned to my girlfriend, "Was that you?"
By the end of the night everybody wanted one and the guy I loaned it to never returned it. LOL

My uncle had something similar. You placed it under the toilet seat. When someone sat down it sounds off with a flush and some guy says, “ Hey! I’m working down here.”
A Nice vid on marx toys....The first few minutes are unique, and then commercials.
My dilemma? Whats the name of the Music in this video?

Quoted from OLDPINGUY:Whats the name of the Music in this video?
At the very beginning ? sounds like the Munsters TV show theme song.
