Used to go to a pub all the time when I was a kid and played Comet every day. Ended up buying one a few years back and don’t plan on selling it anytime soon.

Gorgar was my first pin around November of 2013. I dreaded the day that it would malfunction and figuring out what I would do about it. It happened in a few weeks and pinside was joined for advice. A hobby was born. Gorgar was sold early on and I do miss it from time to time. Not enough to look for another one though.

My 1st was a DE Tommy back in 2000. eBay for $500 or something. Drove with my girlfriend (now wife for 20 years) from Chicago to Dayton to pick it up. Seller was super nice and warned us: “be careful…they like friends”. And subsequently showed us the four pins in his basement. Was our inside joke for YEARS (as we were sure it was our one and only…bit of nostalgia for me and interesting artwork in our duplex condo in Bucktown).

Fast forward to 2023 and Tommy is still with us…with seven “friends” (along with 4 arcades, life-size homemade motorized R2D2, putting green, etc. etc) in our basement in the KC suburbs. Raising a glass to that seller: gave me a fair warning before diving into the hobby.

TSPP, the game that started my addiction. I bought it 7 years ago for what I considered a stupid amount of money to spend on 1 game…$4800. Oh how I wish those days were still here.

One owner, home use only with receipts to prove it. 207 total plays and was still running original 2003 code. Zero cabinet/playfield wear with only a couple dimples up near the garage.

It’s still in my collection and has 15 other siblings now. 53B507E1-04C1-4403-8789-87AFC3E322A6.jpeg53B507E1-04C1-4403-8789-87AFC3E322A6.jpeg
