Hey I was just realizing I haven’t updated my games, but was wondering is the newest code always the best?

Being that some new games don't come with code at all, it is always best to find out and update where possible.

IPDB usually shows which code is the latest. Or check Stern's website directly for theirs.

But are some older codes better than some of the newer ones? Like lose a feature or leave out a not so good rule? Guess I should just start getting my collection an update.

I think that's pretty rare. And honestly if they are legit updates then that's the way it was designed. RBION for example earlier codes had a ball saver on default, and then later versions tuned it into an option.
Mostly the updates are adding elements. code for met didnt even have CIU modes forever so that's a complete tragedy.
