Hello All:

Relative newbie to pinball ownership. Bought my first machine last year (an odd ball very early build High Speed).

I am an electrical engineer who worked in a TV Repair shop in the 1970s. I have many tools and test equipment (DMMs, scope, solder station, etc) as I restore antique radios as a hobby, but wonder what pinball specific tools I should have around.

Also, what vendors do you recommend for pinball specific tools?

I've enjoyed reading the posts on the home made tools; some I will try to replicate myself.

Any advice is appreciate. Take care, Bill

At some point in time, you will need ALL of these items. I have accumulated this toolkit over the last 26 years. If I needed something once, chances are high I'll need it again, so into the tool kit it went. Some of this stuff I've had since 1986 from Electronics Technology school.

Trust me, I don't just keep a tool kit with stuff in it...every single item in my kit serves a specific pinball service application.

Vice grips. Tony from the Coinbox podcast swears by them.

A piece of 2 by 2 to rest the machine on while you take the back legs off / put them back on. Saves resting the table on your thigh or having someone else hold it why you bolt the legs on.

Lengths of PVC tubing to slide games in & out of your vehicle & down steps, if you plan on getting many more.
