Are you referring to the vertical plastic that sits behind the VUK?

It still sounds like the OP is referring to the vertical plastic rather than the Arwen plastic. The vertical plastics just needs a piece of lexan for protection that you can buy at your local hardware store and cut with a jigsaw as I posted above.
Pinbits sells a very good sandwich protector for the Arwen plastic.

I found that the velcro works better because the 2-sided tape has foam in between the adhesive sides and the foam tears between the adhesive outer layers over time.
