I would pick the Old TV series Batman and Robin

    #2 12 years ago

I would pick an original pinball theme for a pinball machine.

I'm sure there is a game out there based on the players, Sharkey's shoot-out style where you become Pinball Champ or IFPA, Pinball league, multiball mania or whatever. Time for another Pinball Champ I say.

I can see the dot images of the players dancing in front of the machines now.

I just don't get why the pinball industry produces loads of machines, happily promoting everything from Ironman to Roller Coaster Tycoon and don't promote the game of pinball. They used to do it but the last with any real connection was Tommy in the early 90's. They have done slot games and pool games, its time for a pinball game based on pinball.

Pinball is the coolest by far heh!

I pinball themed pinball? Now i would buy that. i'm sick of movie themes.

    #4 12 years ago

the "Jetzon's". I want to see Rosie the robot and the electric treadmill toys on the playfield.

    #5 12 years ago

A Clue based pin is what i want to see also I would like in a wide body

    #6 12 years ago

    Three stooges!
Wise guy eh??? Woohp-wooph-wooph! Nyuck, nyuck, nuck!!!
The ball could be slapping them in the face and hit a target to get the old eye jab

I don't usually like licensed themes... but at least it's not one of the trendy contemporary themes.

A few I would like to see done:

    Road Warrior
    Army of Darkness
    Halo
    Monster Jam /Gravedigger
    Iron Maiden

    #8 12 years ago

all good picks, great ideas! im a big mob buff so i would think something like godfather, goodfellas, casino would be great it would not have to be licensed but something like that where you have rackets and do hits anything mob related. or a heavy metal based game which would not be for everyone but you could have a killer soundtrack for the game.

    #9 12 years ago

I think an Iron Maiden machine could be a big success, due to the world wide fan base, huge music library to get souds from, terrific artwork, and "Eddie" related playfield toy possibilities.

    AC/DC
    Beetlegeuse
    the Big Lebowski
    a haunted motel theme.....

....by the way, I am so old I remember going to Iron Maiden's first US tour back in the eighties!......

    #12 12 years ago

X-Men, Magneto would be up there in the playfield with balls spinning around him in a magnetic force field and you have the ceramic ball to hit his target, also juggernaut , sabertooth, and a wolverine claw underneath the playfield to save the ball from drain. A big moving centinal as the main toy. it would probably make Stern or Jersey Jack to much money to happen though. Ide love to join the team in design though, I have the degree.

    #13 12 years ago

I agree with the 3 Stooges....That would big.

    #14 12 years ago

Oh... I just remembered one I thought of a while ago that I think could have been a GREAT theme if handled right.

    Van Helsing.

    A guy made a custom one ...

Bumping an old thread instead of starting my own. Here's my fantasy themes:

    - Mythbusters (the TV show) themed would be great. Play off the different famous myths they've explored and feature the guys from the show.

    - Hell's Kitchen featuring Gordon Ramsey and cooking themed. The opening to Hell's Kitchen this year is pinball themed so I think it would be nice to return the favor

    - Ghostbusters

    - Goodfellas (cevans82 beat me to it)

    - Radiohead (not sure if it would be a good theme... but it's my favorite band)

    - Beavis and Butthead

    - Blade Runner

    - 28 Days / Weeks Later... or any type of Zombie Theme

    #18 12 years ago

Good choices, the Hell's Kitchen suggestion made me smile. I think something that is fun is called for rather than a serious title.

    #19 12 years ago

    1. Arrested Development
    2. Lebowski
    3. Skiing (hey, it worked for rafting)

    #20 12 years ago

Music themes...there is a cool dubstep scene going on including the super heavy

Put your lead boots on and dance (Warning: don't listen alone if you the nervous type)

or for an space invasion or Prodigy theme

    #21 12 years ago

The old show Mayberry with Don Knots

    #22 12 years ago

    Twin Peaks

    #23 12 years ago

Are there any war based machines? Coming up through the ranks? Other than starship troopers, real war I mean. And ground troops, not fighter pilot.

    #24 12 years ago

    Top three:

Spaghetti westerns - Clints of course. Not sure too many know of the others (Trinity?)
Big Lebowski - how could it go wrong. Combine a movie theme with a bowling theme
Evil Dead - just too much there not to have a pin based on it.

    #25 12 years ago

I would like to see a pinball machine depict something that is going on today ! Why do we live in the past ?

    Jim

    #26 12 years ago

Knight Rider. But it would HAVE to have K.I.T.T talking. The wizard mode would be "SUPER PURSUIT"

    That would be awesome!

    #27 12 years ago

Ooooh, I like it. Just thinking about Angelo Badalamenti' score gives me goose bumps!

William Daniels is still alive, but they better hurry up. He's not getting any younger.

    #29 12 years ago

    Him...

They already made a Spongbob machine, albeit a virtual one ...

I still think "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" would be the ideal license for a pin. It could have some really cool sci-fi toys, and there is a virtually unlimited amount of great quotes to choose from.

    #32 12 years ago

planet of the apes would be cool for a movie theme.

global domination for original theme. kind of like risk.

    #33 12 years ago

The Matrix would be very cool. Agent Smith - Neo kicking ass - awesome!

    #34 12 years ago

The Goonies would be f-in awesome.

    #35 12 years ago

a Saving Private Ryan Theme, Toy Story so my daughter can play, and Xmen table would be great! If Stern Makes an Avengers and looks and plays good, I will buy it!

    #36 12 years ago
    Quoted from paulmg01:

    QUOTED FOR TRUTH!

I can almost hear the Cyndi Lauper blaring from it now.

    Quoted from teachp8:

The Matrix would be very cool.

Just for the first movie would be just fine.
I'd buy one over Johnny Nm!

    #38 12 years ago

i'm a tarintino guy, kill bill would be awesome. metallica couldn't hurt either. and who could say no to the good bad and ugly?

    #39 12 years ago

LOST would work really well I think. Ramps to the different parts of the island... Maybe an 'open the hatch' gimmick.

Also, something Pixar related. Cars is the first thing that comes to mind... But I think Wall-E or Toy Story would be good too.

    #40 12 years ago

How about a current bowling theme. They are many old ones but nothing modern. I als lkiked the 301 theme from another thread. That is going to have a more limited market though.

    #41 12 years ago

I would like to see an updated Star Wars! I'm also very excited about an Avengers pin!!!

    #42 12 years ago

    Fifth Element
    Sonic the Hedgehog
    Clockwork Orange
    Rocky Horror Picture Show
    Harry Potter

Edit: Arrrg, a bunch of my picks were already mentioned in
    http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pinball-themes-you-are-amazed-dont-exist

Great minds think alike I guess.

    #43 12 years ago

Our Gang - the little rascals
of course it would have to be flipperless

    #44 12 years ago

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegus for sure. WE CANT STOP HERE, THIS IS BAT COUNTRY!!

    #45 12 years ago

As your attorney, I advise you to continue driving through the bats.

    #46 12 years ago

    Hot Fuzz
    or
    Sean of the dead

    Action and fun!

    #47 12 years ago

Have to admit I am very surprised there wasn't a Fifth Element pin.

And WHY Stern actually made an Austin Powers and CSI machine but NOT a Harry Potter is amazing

    #48 12 years ago

Avengers (Favorite comic and rumored to be a Stern machine)
Scooby Doo (Favorite cartoon growing up, still being made)
Evil Dead -AOD (Saw Army of Darkness at the theater, my friend and I were the only people there)
Plants vs. Zombies (Humorous zombie theme, that is more tame)
Haunted Amusement Park (Carnevil type theme), or Zombie Land type layout.
World of Warcraft (Cool fantasy theme)

Besides Evil Dead, all of these are current themes. If we want to pull in the younger generation to at least try pinball, we have to tap themes they recognize. Superhero movies have been able to bridge some of the generations, that is why Stern has had success with the movie themes.

    #49 12 years ago

I see a bunch of people putting Evil Dead for a pinball machine. This is what some guy did with a Hollywood Heat that I thought was kinda cool.

    #50 12 years ago
    Quoted from Johnny:

WHY Stern actually made an Austin Powers and CSI machine but NOT a Harry Potter is amazing

can't say for sure but probably the price of the licenses!
I know that CSI series creator Anthony E. Zuiker also assisted in the design of the machine-he's a fan so the license probably cost Stern very little.
I think Austin Powers was potentially a great license but a poor pin. The game play just isn't there for me.
