    Quoted from tamoore:

If Stern ever let Trudeau do his Beatles pinball

I don't think Stern is the limiting factor, it's the license holders.

I really don't think there's any theme that would hit every single audience market. Every licensed theme has it's fans and haters, and Stern has done pretty well to balance it out to get most bang for their buck with buyers (band theme, comic theme, movie/tv theme, car license).

Cartoons cause those were so cool when i was a teen

not thumbing up because I think it would make a good theme, but I loved this comic growing up as well (mid 80's - early 90's)

Gameroom junkies asked people what would be in a christmas themed pinball machine and half the ideas weren't bad (42 minutes in):

    Quoted from mikeatsparkys:

I would incorporate all 10 of the movies or how ever many there were

They made 7 but it felt like 10. If you DID do it, it would have to have a bunch of sounds by michael winslow

Phineas and Ferb would make a great theme

I REALLY want to watch that, but I feel weird watching a kids cartoon in my 40's

    Quoted from radrats:

    Bill and Ted for sure.

It could have a phone booth you have to shoot that locks balls and then descends into the playfield for multiball. It would also have amazing call outs...

this has been mentioned a few times and I agree, especially since part 3 is coming:
    http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/features/123940-exclusive-keanu-reeves-talks-bill-ted-3s-time-twists

The phone booth could basically be the file cabinet mech from xfiles:

It would also need to have a ton of subway tunnels underneath the playfield for teleporting to different time zones

Mandatory: announcer for callouts HAS to be a really good george carlin impressionist

    Quoted from Damonator:

What was the best earning pin last year? Star Trek. Why? Because it appeals to all ages

Best earning pinball of 2013? Metallica, and kids have no idea who they are.
Stern builds pins for the people buying them. Last time I checked, kids weren't getting $5k in their allowance, and the 50% that do go on route don't earn as it is. When I was 12, the hot games of that year were pinbot and high speed (nothing to do with kid shows). I didn't play pinball for the theme, I played them because they were fun.
