Quoted from Da_Topper:

Went there a couple months ago but been going there on and off for years. The Treasure Island pirate show is no more Heard something about it tied up too much traffic when the show was on and locals complained about the cannons going off cause it could be heard for miles. Almost every hotel charges for parking now and those daily hotel charges are bogus. Where is the beautiful grass landscape Caesar's use to have? Oh wait it's covered now by all these little bars and shops to get more money everywhere you walk. Got a good rate thru AAA to stay at the Palazzo and parking is actually free.

The pirate show closing at TI had nothing to do with traffic and locals complaining lol. Traffic is ALWAYS a shitshow on the strip so "the locals" avoid it like the plague haha. The pirate show was a completely FREE show that took up prime real estate and had to pay all the performers. Unfortunately the owner of Tresure Island (Phil Ruffin) being the billionaire business person that he is would rather have the 48,000 square foot property turned into profit making gift shops and a pharmacy. Like the strip needs more of that??!! Haha. I for one loved the pirate show! When I had relatives or friends come visit it was always something fun to watch with people who have never been to Vegas.

Quoted from PSU14:

After being here for a night I have a few thoughts. Food prices on the strip are unreal. I wonder if it's related to vegas rebranding to conventions and trade shows. People get to "expense" their food so there isn't as much sticker shock. Seeing a lot of name tags/lanyards, maybe there's more money on the weekday business people than weekend partying.
Also. Couldn't agree more with the children and strollers complaints. For sin city, there sure seems to be a lot of young and impressionable minds wandering around.

Yeah the whole kids in stroller thing really annoys me also. True story here. I was at Fremont st I think 4 summers ago during the summer concert series. It's free outdoor concerts on Fremont every summer with a different theme every year with some pretty big name bands. Anyway it was 80's Hair Metal concert summer and I was at the Dee Snider show out on the street doing all the twisted sister songs. Completely FREE and completely INSANE. It was close to midnight with the concert still going I think and there were strollers EVERYWHERE!!! At basically a twisted sister concert on Fremont St!! I remember one dad pushing his kid in his stroller and I kid you not, the dad had his 6 pack of beer in the kids lap and smoking a cigar above the kid with the ashes falling in the kids lap!! Couldn't believe it. Not to mention the couple thousand person crowd pushing, shoving, fighting, swearing, smoking, and puking just craziness lolol.

Quoted from Manimal:

They re-branded it a couple of times, and I think the last version was the Sirens of TI.....but it always drew a crowd, and ultimately it drew a lot of folks into the casino. But gaming floors are supporting the properties less and less, and now the concentration is on shows, food and retail, as a result of it being a "family destination" full of vacationers who are not hard core gamblers. I have been in meetings with Phil and his son, and although he often looks like a hermit, the one thing he knows how to do is to make money. He was the one guy in Vegas that made a crapload of money and then sold for a premium just before the collapse. Then he comes back on the tail end of that crash and buys TI for pennies on the dollar. He will no doubt make money on this deal, but it is sad to see a Vegas Staple disappear.

Agreed. Very smart man for sure. I was sad to see it go also.
