I am getting ready to buy my wife a new car. She wants a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Does anyone know if a pin will fit in the back? Not sure on the Cherokee if the seats can lay flat or if one will fit. What SUV's will a pin fit in?

I've got a 2013 4runner and it works perfect for hauling one pin.

My wife has an 2007 Acura MDX and it fits one pin. Have hauled several in it.

    What year jeep?

    1999 - 2004 are the largest...it's opening height that's an issue.

    2005 - 2010...you can't fit a Williams.

2011 - 2014...a stern spiderman just fits, with the machine sitting on a sheet of Formica.

Yes it does, but getting it in and out around the hitch clip and 2nd row seats is a pain! Any advice on how you do it?

    #15 9 years ago

I got a Pin-Bot in a 2009/10? Honda Cr-V and still had plenty of room. Not sure if that helps or not.

    #16 9 years ago

Fits easily in my Ford Edge.

    #17 9 years ago

Chevy Traverse works great. TZ, SM, FG, MET, ACDC & BDK all fit perfect.

1997-2001 Jeep Cherokee with no problem.

Does an SUV exist that CAN'T haul at least one pin? I mean, really? If you don't have that much cargo space can it even be called an SUV?

The biggest issue is the height clearance. A lot of "compact SUVs" just miss this by an inch or two, even though they have plenty of depth/width. That's the story with my VW Tiguan, bought before I got into this hobby.

    Rav4 an option for pins?

Dodge Journey doesnt fit a pin with the head on

2011 Pilot will for sure fit 2 games with the heads off.

Bump. Did ya measure the 2014 Grand Cherokee?

I'm driving an '04 Grand Cherokee which fits any pin I can throw at it, but I know that the later GCs don't cut it. I was wondering about the '14 since it's a new body/style.

I ask because the Mrs. just crunched my pinhauler (and trailer!) doing something stupid and so I'm thinking I'm going to accelerate the replacement that I was planning to do in 2015 or 2016. I have a teen just about to start driving so he will get the current pinhauler to beat on.

    Cheers.

Ouch!! We are still shopping for one. Have not yet measured it.

GMC Acadia fits a pin just fine with the seats folded flat.

    #33 9 years ago

Easier to ask which ones won't hold a pin.
We have a Mazda CX9 that fits a pin nicely.

I bought my Audi Q5 thinking one pin would fit, but damned if I'm going to tear it up trying, if I can help it!

Bought a nice little 5x8 trailer instead, with mag wheels!

Also, this thread's title should be "Into which SUVs will a pin fit?"

    Kidding! Well, not really.

I saw a pic of a guy that fit two in the back of a Jeep Wrangler. Classic

Anyone know if the new Mazda Cx-5 will hold a pin? That little suv is a nice looking vehicle.

    #40 9 years ago

I can tell you that the POS 2012 Rogue I rented while out of town fit a NGG but only with the head taken off. Height was short a few inches.

    #41 9 years ago

With the height issues....without taking the head completely off, can you unattach and just slide the head down some to make it clear (and keep the wiring attached)?

Pins will fit a 2009 RAV 4 nicely. Don't know about the redesigned newer model. Don't like that they only have a 4 cyclinder. I like the V6 power.

Any XJ Jeep from the early to mid 90's will work - hauled a TFTC in it as well as a RFM (separately).

If you do a Pin2000 in an XJ, get ready to take the seat out. It is a VERY....tight fit.

Absolutely, I have had them in my 2013 cx5. Just gotta deal with the seat bump. You should be able to use 2x4s to make rails it's about the same size as the bump.

    #44 9 years ago

Toyota FJ Cruiser holds one pin without any issues (except that it's a pretty tall ride so be ready to lift).

Still wondering if anybody has tried in a Subaru Crosstrek yet, have to make a run to pick up a system 80 but don't want to get all the way there and find out it doesn't fit.

I have a 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer I use sometimes to haul pins but it is not very reliable. Talk about a gas guzzler. That's why we are going to buy a newer Grand Cherokee (if it will fit a pin).

Would be curious how much height you could gain back on a pin using this method...anyone know?
