I actually found a quarter still stuck in the coin mech when I got my Laser War.
Coins are always nice, I have also found screws and washers (of course), a volt meter, cpu circuit board, pf plastics, straws, stray keys, and I am sure other stuff too. I guess nothing too exciting but this is a fun topic!
One cool item that i found in my one of mine was a list from a operator, that wrote down how much the machine took in for a while, when it was on route. Its a 79 tri zone, so it was cool to see how much pinball has changed on location. I don't remember off hand how much a month on location it took in but it does say. other then that, just the regular random screws, bulbs, couple plastic pieces that i never found out where they came from.
i have found wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, a pair of sunglasses, small toys, manuals to other machines (i actually found a manual to a Off Road Challenge in one of the last games).
I've found:
Magnifying reading glasses
Porno mags from the 80s
Roll of solder + iron tips
Bag of weed (small, don't get excited)
Bunch of straight pins + sewing needles (wife must have used game as sewing table?)
Manuals to other arcade games/pins
Hand written resistor code chart
Some chick's diary
Tons of tokens from arcades I've never heard of
Empty potato chip bag w/crumbs
Cockroach parts
Quoted from P42Hogger:I found half a box of .22s in my TZ.
Haha!! I found bullets in my Hook...Previous owner must have stashed his gun in there.
I saw a thread where someone found a Dildo in one... No Joke! Hilarious actually... I can just see the wife trying to find a clever hiding spot and throwing it in a pinball machine...

say what you will, it's a much less expensive shaker motor in most cases!

Perfect place to hide Playboy mags too
I found a cd and out of curiosity I threw it into an old laptop to see what it had on it. Personal porn pics of the guys wife I bought it from!
Quoted from tracelifter:I also found 2 magazine replacement springs, looks like they are for .45 acp stick mags in the TZ I bought.
I guess pins make good lockers for gun stuff.
Yes they sure do..Who would ever think there's a gun in a Pinball machine...Perfect hiding spot. But just remember it's there before when moving the game or it will be a firework show..Kaboom!!

Best thing I ever found in a game was this...
Strangest thing I ever found in a game was the manual.

Speechless....wow, really? I think that is worst than that Pin a pinsider got out of a barn about a year back.
Quoted from P42Hogger:I found half a box of .22s in my TZ.
Were they using them as fuses? (If you haven't already checked...go do that now. I'm semi-serious!)
Quoted from vid1900:Some chick's diary
Did you read it? Any juicy details?

How where they? +1 or -1?

Semi-off topic, but the drop ceiling in my basement/gameroom has been the gift that keeps on giving. Found an old dildo...that sucker looked like it took 6 D-cells...had a handle like a Mag-lite. LOL. Also found 2 smut DVDs (including one that was impressively nasty even by my standards), 1 Girls Gone Wild VHS, an empty box of condoms, and a few other goodies. I think the well is dry now, unfortunately. Haven't found anything in quite a while, though I looked pretty good after finding those DVDs!
Ive found
jukebox song strips
Reciept for a Ms Pacman
Couple of coins.
Posts for completely different machines,
burned out bulbs (why do people keep these?)
Quoted from way2wyrd:burned out bulbs (why do people keep these?)
Lazy ops without a trash can nearby, I'd assume

Cause when you are really bored you can drop them just right and they make a cool popping sound.
Eh, really just a lot of "first time ever touching a penis" and "he wants me to wear high heels" crap.
I bought a machine that was locked with no keys. I found $280 in quarters inside! Yes, that's over 1,000 quarters. I had wondered why the front end of it was so heavy.

Cool.
I purchased a Pinball Magic from Super Auctions in Dallas that had $60.00 in quarters locked in the cash box.
Have any of you guys/gals with machines from say about the mid/late 70's or older ever found any valuble/rare silver quarters or dimes in your pinball machines?
The silver coins were produced up through 1964.
If so, let us know. I'd like to hear some examples of which coins/dates/mint you where fortunate enough to find. Just another fun & rewarding aspect of pinball.
Remember seeing the old Liberty Head {Barber} dimes (1892 - 1916), and Mercury dimes (1916 - 1945) that preceeded the Roosevelt dimes. The silver Washington quarters (1931 - 1964) were preceeded by the Standing Liberty quarters (1916 - 1930) and Barber quarters (1892 - 1916).
Silver quarters & dimes were still common in circulation through much of the 70's.
Mint marks: D = Denver, S = SanFrancisco, no mark = Philadelphia
Collecting coins was fun back in the 70's. Nowadays I rarely ever find any valuable old coins in my change.
the only thing I've ever found in any of my used pins were gremlins... and no... not the car
EDIT* not the fuzzy kind you don't feed after midnight either....

Been doing it for years....its so much easier and faster getting deals done over the phone then it is through emails that can take days or even months. One phone call and were done in 5 minutes. Heck how do you think I've owned over 400 pins.....? It was because I was sitting in front of the computer waiting for a reply, its because I had already closed the deal at the guys house because he called me instead. LOL.

Some guy, can't remember where the story was posted. Klov or rgp. Anyway, dude bought like 15 old gumball machines at an auction. Drilled the locks and every one was full of Roosevelt dimes. Maybe it was the Mercury ones, I can't remember. Lucky guy.
