I need to adjust a switch and no sockets I have are small enough. Also, where would I buy such a small socket?

    Thanks,

Probably not enough torque required to where you could CAREFULLY use small pliers to undo them.

Try a 3/16 or failing that a 4.5mm might do it (5 will be too big)

don't screw 'em in too tight, the screws are quite delicate and the heads can break off easily. Learned this the hard way.

I don't remember the exact size but you'll need a mini, or jewelers, nut driver set. I've never seen them sold individually, but that doesn't they're not available that way.

I'm fairly sure those are 1/8" heads.

I believe 1/8th" is correct also.

I was thinking they were 3/16, not 1/8, but I'm not 100% sure.

I saved an old set of box end bicycle wrenches from long ago. They work great and have every smaller size. I just grab a few from my set and try one till it fits.

TFTC have been replaced with Philips screws but 3/16 for RBION trough physical switches.

This would more than cover it

This is probably more like it

Or just a basic cheap kit

The 7 piece Klein nutdriver set like Pinball Life has a 3/16 nut driver in the set, and I'm almost certain I've used the nutdriver on a set of that style trough switches....

I appreciate all of the feedback. I was actually able to adjust my switch without having to unscrew the nuts. I will still keep an eye out for a watch repair style nut driver set in the future. Thank you!

Upon further thought, I think it is a 3/16" head. It's the black handled nut driver in my tool box...

OK, I had to go find my socket that fits. It is a 3/16" !

    #14 5 years ago

I actually tested a 3/16th on one before I posted

I'm only half as stupid as I seem.

its actually the equivalent of around a 1mm. very hard to find. the sizes mention here are way to big. lowes has small set for around 35 bucks if you can actually locate them within the store. they look like an eyeglass screwdriver but instead have a tiny socket head that is built right on. if you have room needle nose gets them off also...in about an hour!!

i havnt changed the ball trough switches, but all the other switches on my segas are around the 1mm equivalent. atleast all the ones i fixed.
