I'm thinking ELV3 - short enough to warrant an abbreviation, yet clear enough to not be confused with another title. If not preferred by the masses, my second choice would be EHH or EHoH.
Quoted from epthegeek:I like EHH. Forget the o. Did you see the new Elvira game? EHH? Yeah, EHH.
Ugh.
Acronyms are NOT words...

Except, sometimes they are, ex: S.C.U.B.A, N.A.S.A.....etc

You’re gonna try to pretend people don’t say “TOM” and “TOTAN” as words?
Regardless, nothing about my post said it was a word, I just used my preferred version in context two times — you made it a word.

This suggestion nails it.

For me it's "WGAF" as in who gives a f""k. There are so many acronyms I can't keep track and going to pinwiki just to find the newest one is silly. Spend the extra 2.5 seconds to spell the game name out.
Quoted from mof:Oh snap, I went with EHH -- I wonder how many games we include the O and how many we do not -- someone would have to research that...

we makin' lame memes about pinball abbreviations now? Ooooook, if you say so....

Has there ever been a thread to 'pick' an abbreviation for a pin before?
It is fairly simple.
Here are the steps:
1. Start with the games full title
2. Take the first letter of each word
3. If those letters conflict with another abbreviation add the fewest remaining letters to make it unique, or append the next sequence number if the titles are exactly the same.
Here is the application:
1. Elvira's House of Horrors
2. EHOH
3. Conflict? No. Done.
How we F that up is amazing!
White Water is wh20
Thus far there has been no set standard regarding only using the first letter of each word
Maybe we need some "OFFICIAL" threads to settle these matters?
On a side note, perhaps a more phonetic approach could yield more interesting results such as...EHOW

How we F this up is that I don’t agree with you...there is no standard. Use whichever abbreviation works best for you. In my mind, the whole point of an abbreviation is to shorten a word, phrase, title, etc. as much as possible where it is still clear as to what is being abbreviated. When it comes to Pinside or texting a pinball friend about the new Elvira pin I will be using E3 instead of EHOH (which does look like the noise a donkey makes) just as I use BK3 instead of BKSOR. Why? Because it’s easier for me...I find it more concise and there is no mistaking which pin I am referring to when I type E3. It satisfies my own rule of shortest but still clear as to what I am abbreviating. Sorry if I am violating some Pinside etiquette but I will be using E3 just as I feel every other Pinsider should use whichever abbreviation works best for them...no need for us to all agree...we all know which pin we are talking about when using either abbreviation for the new Elvira pin. I’m just happy we have a new Elvira pin to abbreviate!
Quoted from pinballcorpse:Dennis Nordman said in another thread he liked the 3LVIRA name and thought it was clever.
Quoted from DennisNordman:I prefer 3LVIRA. I don't know who came up with that, but it's a very clever logo. The 3 represents an E and a three for the third game. Rotate it and it looks like boobs. Perfect!
There you go!

Changed my vote to "Other" - for 3LVIRA
If Dennis says it's perfect, then that's it as far as I'm concerned. Can we add 3LVIRA to the Poll?

I’ve tried, but don’t see how to change the poll.

That's only because WW was being used for Whirlwind.

And that's only after years of bitching that ww listed waterworld.

You guys gonna let a Deeproot employee abbreviate a Stern game?
WOZ should have been TWOZ (The Wizard of Oz) but I lost that argument.

Doesn't matter. Dennis was joking anyway!

I can't not read the number. When I look at this, I see Threelvira. I hate when movies and shows do that...horrible hacky trend. When I see Numb3rs, I see Numbthreers. Se7en is Sesevenen. Fant4stic is Fantfourstic.
