Head 2 Head, Pinball Supernova, This Week in Pinball & Special When Lit all calling it quits.
What gives?
Quoted from Whysnow:TONS of work, but yet the donkey wins the 1 recognition award each year because he is a controversial dbag.
Zero actual pinball knowledge, history, tech advice, or anything of real value, but the Jerry Springer show wins...
I can imagine it is easy to get burnt out on such passion projects and only normal to question why invest so much time and energy with no praise from the community.
Pinball Supernova kind of hinted at this and if you look at his numbers, he's getting 10% of the viewership he once had.
The others seemed like they were more established though.
Quoted from skink91:There’s got to be some sort of joint channel in the works.
Could be....the timing in which they all stopped is a bit of a coincidence.
Quoted from JY64:I wish this were true but his podcast from 4 days ago has had over 2000 listen already. This week in pinball podcast will be a true loss.
I was referencing Pinball Supernova....not TWIP.
Quoted from pin2d:Just to clarify - in spite of Zach and Dennis being former co-hosts of the TWIP podcast, This Week in Pinball is not involved with The Pinball Network in any way. I found out the details of it yesterday just like everyone else.
I hope this means that TWIP will continue the podcast with different hosts.
Quoted from fireball2:Tony, looked what you unleashed here... You and yer "podcasts."
When I posted this I knew Kaneda's name would probably be brought up but all this other stuff caught me by surprise.
The non pinball podcast's I listen to (Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Collosal Podcast, Foreplay, Who Are These Podcasts? etc) don't have this kinda drama.
You ought to start your own podcast Mark! I'd definitely tune in to learn about all things pinball, skateboardin', sourdough, etc.)
Quoted from DanQverymuch:Were I to read this entire thread, I will have spent more time doing that than I have listening to pinball podcasts.
Sorry if this sentiment has already been expressed; I obviously didn't read the thread.
I started the thread curious as to why four podcasts had all called it quits around the same time and added a poll.
Kaneda was mentioned two posts later and predictably it's been off the rails since, with a side discussion regarding inclusion.
Almost nothing of substance regarding The Pinball Network has been discussed in over 500 posts.
Sorry Mods.
Quoted from TheLaw:The OP could just change the thread title to the new one and keep all this gold!
Done.
Quoted from LTG:You can change the title. ( Thank you )
Link remains the same : https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/what-s-with-all-the-podcasts-ending/page/11#post-5435287
LTG : )
Thanks, Lloyd...can I change the link?
Sounds good...
I'm tapping out. Anyone else want to do this have at it.
Quoted from ForceFlow:I would recommend starting a new thread for specifically discussing the newly announced pinball network.
I'm thinking the shelf life of this thread has expired.....Mods, please pull the plug.
Last person out please turn off the lights.
Quoted from Globalcop:Or you could just stop coming here and reading what’s being posted. Unless of course the issue isn’t you not liking what’s being written here, but you not wanting other people to read what’s written here.
Welcome to Pinside.
Generally when a topic becomes a train wreck like this one, the OP can choose to close it to avoid continuing drama. It has nothing to do with me "not wanting people to read what's written here" as you claim.
I tried to change the title but the mods changed it back.
Keep it...dump it....I really don't care.
Quoted from screaminr:If you hadn't have started it I would have , so it would be here regardless . I've been enjoying it .
This seems to be the consensus so carry on....
Add Slap Save to the list.

Quoted from yancy:Here's a direct link to the Slap Save post, or at least I think so. Facebook makes it hard to know what the heck you're actually linking to:

Jason always seemed so chill, well-spoken, thoughtful & rational (at least in my limited exposure) that I'm surprised to hear him talk about a temper, punching, etc. I've listened to zero TPN so far and haven't dug into any drama, so most of his vaguebooking is lost on me. But I have a guess as to who it's mostly about.
Greg Bone also alluded to "backdoor moves going on in the community" as one reason why he's stepping away.
