Whether they are joining forces or not, it's always the same 2 - 3 thousand people that actually listen to pinball podcasts.....does it really matter? I don't think this will spark any more interest if that's what the plan is. They're not going to get together and suddenly 100,000 people are going to start listening to people talk about pinball.

I also think that having a set schedule burns people out. You put unnecessary deadlines and pressure on yourself and I can see how that can suck the fun out of it after a while, especially when there's often not much material to work with.

    Quoted from sataneatscheese:

Good: Many different podcasts are joining together for one super-show that we will all love and appreciate.

Hope it's not another over-produced hot-mess like that Franchi one. It's only pinball. Keep it simple.

    DON’T LIKE PHOTOSHOP TUTORIALS, BROTHER?!!!

I'd rather listen to a terrible impression of Macho Man for two hours.

    Quoted from delt31:

Something is going on. I just hope the amount of pinball ass kissing and content run by a distributor is balanced out.
Everyone wonders why all of this content is not being listened too yet Kaneda’s pulling in 2k per listen. Very simple - people are sick of the non stop ass kissing that goes on. I told this to Zach already but worth repeating - he’s talented no doubt but once he became a distributor it completely changed the rules. And this is from someone who donated to SDTM.
He can joke about it all he wants but that’s just his insecurity and rightfully so - you can’t sell people games and then give your “industry opinion” on what’s good and what’s not. People like Bone and Fowler now unfortunately get shrapnel from it as well. Best thing about Zach is that he’ll talk about inviting those that view this way on the show and can “hang” with anyone yet declines the invite from Kaneda. Hmmmm wonder why. Now that would be great content.
Btw - best new content I’ve heard is Fowler doing interviews. Really enjoying it. Great job Jason.

I couldn't agree more. I miss the old SDTM days.

    Quoted from chooch:

Even then did they ever rate a newer game less then a B- ? Maybe they were feeling a little frisky and gave something a C+.

True, but at least it seemed genuine.

Why don’t they call it what it really is?...the Flip N Out Pinball Network. Now almost everyone is under the umbrella. Manufacturers must be ecstatic.

    Quoted from Looprunner:

    I'm excited about the network!

I'm flip n out over this news as well.

    Quoted from iceman44:

How can you not have TWIP on a new Pinball Channel?
TWIP is the premiere pinball content site.

Why give up the freedom to do whatever you want to do to join this 'network'?

All this for 2500 people in the world that listen to pinball podcasts.

    #483 5 months ago

Just a question to all those being asked to join the ‘network’ strictly because of your gender, ethnicity, etc. and regardless of talent - are you all okay with that?

    Quoted from PoMC:

<- my reaction when someone adds "Mafia" at the end of a name.
    Pinball Mafia?
    What does that even mean?

It's the organization of criminals in pinball. Makes total sense.

    Quoted from Raegor:

Damn Zack, stick to one thread, you're becoming the pinstadium of podcast threads... and that's coming from a fan.

I agree. This thread is dedicated to the memory of the pinball podcast glory days. We miss you.

    Quoted from WeLoveScott:

My favorite podcast era was listening to Coast to Coast, early Head2Head and K.

Those were good times. Is Nate still doing those Stern podcasts or has that died off?

    #626 4 months ago

As good as Nate is, there’s no way I would listen to a podcast that is set up to advertise a manufacturer. I give Zach enough grief as a distributor doing podcasts already. It’s unfortunate he got pulled into that whole stupid idea. Hopefully C2C will be back one day.
