Speaking out against injustices or lack of diversity is a good thing, but many seem real quick to make these issues public before going directly to the individuals involved. We all screw up at times. When that happens I'd much prefer to have someone pull me aside instead of instantly making the issue public. If nothing else it gives me a chance to try to make things right, without it coming across as purely reactionary. Once it goes public, it becomes much more difficult to do that.
