There is a extra transformer in my medusa not hooked up to anything. Any idea what it's for?

It might be from Flash Gordon, whole assembly. So it is not used in Medusa.

Agreed. The wire colors on that transformer match the extra 115V transformer schematics used in Flash Gordon for the xenon strobe lamp behind the Flash Gordon back glass.

My Medusa does not have this transformer. (There are however two holes in the steel plate to mount one.) My Flash Gordon has the transformer and it's located where your's is located.
