Just curious on this. The punch down tool works great on the larger .156 connectors but the smaller ones are far more tricky. I usually end up just using a straight blade jeweler's screwdriver on those. I have a customer's Star Trek Next Gen that has all the bottom connectors on the MPU ruined from battery leakage. I'm dreading replacing all of them using my existing method. I was hoping someone had a trick to speed up the process that they could share. Thanks in advance.

Come on fellas - I know I can cut them off and replace them. The IDC connectors lasted for 20 plus years before the acid did them in. If they are done correctly they are fine. Back in the day I had a machine that did the connectors for me when I was working at an Airforce base. I'm going for the factory look here. Does nobody use them anymore?

    Quoted from G-P-E:

You do realize the reason they used them was to save money, right?

I doubt they were a cheaper connector but it took less labor to assemble making it a cost savings to Bally / Williams.

Just for the record, I'm looking for tips not alternatives.
