This guy's on the right track. Early 80's SS pins are probably your best bet. I'd add Pinbot, Black Hole, Blackout, Meteor, Xenon, Paragon, Genie, Flash, Lightning, Gorgar, etc to the list. Older music themed pins should do well such as KISS, Bally's Rolling Stones, Nugent, maybe GNR at the newest. I'd stay away from most licenced themes, the few exceptions I might go for though would be TSPP, South Park, Dr. Who, and DE SW. Just my $0.02

+1 to all of these. Pinbot, Black Hole, Blackout, Meteor, Xenon, Paragon, Genie, Flash, Lightning, Gorgar

    maybe some em machines too

Elvira, Dr Who (especially as it's the "retro" Doctors) G'N'R and something with 50's cool in its theme, like Eight Ball.

I go to hipster bars all the time, there's a TSPP at the bar I'm thinking of.. I'm also the only one that plays it.

I got a bunch of free games one day and invited one of them to play, he had never played a pin in his life and his eyes lit up like it was xmas day. I never saw that kid again, but I hope I had a long lasting impression with the game.

Any system 11 and lots of Grainbelt Premium, PBR, Old Milwaukee, or Old Style. Not very hip to jump on the micro brew wagon IMO. Old school pins and Old school beers.

Anything they have at Shorty's is what would work for a hipster bar. Many pinball people avoid the place now on weekend nights because the hipsters have taken it over.

    Quoted from MrWizzo:

An avid Seinfeld fan, this thread made me realize until today I never really understood Elaine's comment that Kramer was a "hipster doofus." So i went to a few sights like urban dictionary to read people's commentary. What i found wasn't very complimentary. Essentially that at it's worst, a hipster can be critical without experience, pretentious, superficial and vapid.
Being in my 50s, i have no experience or opinion about hipsters. What's positive or fun about them? I gotta say, PBR was never a beer i liked, and I was suprised to learn a while ago that it has become popular.
Please no one take offense. None intended. Just an emerging dinosaur trying to understand the changing landscape.

Im 52 . When I was younger Pabst Blue Ribbon was what we bought when you couldnt afford Budwieser

"Hip" is usually not associated with pinball.....my kids would say no pin at all......they call me a dork

gawd i know the feeling. the more i try to get my kids into it, the dorkier I become. The one slight exception.... RFM.
