Which pinball tables are most improved from factory conditions with mods and/or adjustments?

I got the idea after playing my Judge Dredd table and I remember thinking it was an ok game when I got it 3 years ago.

However, after adding Color DMD, Pinsound with a custom soundtrack, OCD LED and GI OCD boards that have improved the lighting 1000%, the deadworld mod, a couple of spotlights on the playfield, all LED playfield and GI lights and some under-cab lights the whole game has changed completely and I find it so amazing! Of course it helped that the overall code and shots were good.

Also, it helped that I cleaned the entire table, added new balls and put it at proper level.

Does anyone have tables that have improved drastically with mods and/or adjustments?

Tron Pro has to be most improved with mods.

Is that with the neon ramp lights and the arcade cabinet?

Wow. I really wish I could play your Judge Dredd. Would love to see some video of it and see how you costumized the sound.

This. Tron is an entirely different machine with LED mods on the ramps. Additional toys for the LOTR and the Hobbit make playfield look incredible. Indiana Jones and DE Star Wars are entirely different games once you add pinsound boards.

most mods are just cosmetic, they don't change the game

GB in my collection. I enjoy it so much more with some of the most basic mods that have been made for it. Definitely should have had a few of them installed at the factory.

Similar to adding a post to an outlane or changing the colour scheme on the plastics set.

It will never change the fact the game is a poorly designed boat anchor.

I’d have to say DE Star Wars. That game goes from anemic to Holy Grail with PinSound and flipper fidelity speakers.

Tron is also up there, the cosmetic mods to these 2 games bring them to an entirely new level.

The presence of a game is half the joy of it! When you feel disconnected, it’s trash. When you feel like the Grand Champion of pinball, and the pin is singing songs of praise, it becomes unparalleled.

I've installed dozens of mods over the years, including the Deadworld mod in Judge Dredd, the Bill Ung mods in AFM, Martian Eyes in AFM, Robby the Robot (with LEDs tied into gameplay) in TZ, etc. I'd classify most of that as "eye candy" compared to mods like ColorDMD displays, Flipper Fidelity/Pinball Pro upgrades, non-reflective glass, and LED-OCD. In my opinion, those mods take games to the next level (and yes, some of those mods are pricey).

So, in response to your question, where do these mods have the biggest impact? ColorDMD is always a nice upgrade, but I've discovered there are certain games where ColorDMD colorization is stunning. So far, my favorite ColorDMD colorizations are The Shadow and Indiana Jones. Similarly, speaker upgrades are always good, but the results are stellar in certain games. Flipper Fidelity speakers in TOTAN blew me away. Pinball Pro speakers in MB are great too. Perhaps speaker upgrades are good in most games and great in later games (WPC-95 and beyond). Finally, in my experience, non-reflective glass and LED-OCD are great in any game.

I have been wanting to try non-reflective glass for years. There have been many thread on the subject.
On e of the complaints was that the non-reflective glass did not do very well from the glare from the Backglass/translate in a total dark room /light out . That is how I play . What is your thought on this non-reflective glass working in the dark ???
Thank you.

The coolest mod I have ever personally owned in a game is the Mike D LCD mod for cftbl. Game changer in my opinion.

+1 for anti glare glass / anti glare dmd filter

I second the pinsound board in judge dredd. I feel that the original sound track is too slow to match the speed of game play. There are a couple decent mixes for jd on pinsound, but you can also costomize your own if you have a few minutes and a little knowledge.

If you are talking about becoming a better machine to look at with mods then Tron is by far the #1.
In terms of gameplay I remember a few:
WW- A stronger coil on the top flipper to make the game a little more humane
lord - Some fans bellow the pf kept the flipper coils working normally after 1 hour of play

I can post some pics and videos later. Will take me a few days though

I get so pissed every time I make it half way up the top ramp with Millions lit. Makes me want to scream
