I had over all the people that donate their time helping to work at the local Food Bank to feed the needy. It was a combination pot luck luncheon and pinball tournament. The party started at noon and went into the night.
To begin with, there were tons of great food and drink. For the tournament I got a 15" tall trophy and the Food Bank donated a $25 gift card to the winner. The music was great to the point where people were actually dancing in my basement. Meanwhile all my pins were making their sweet sounds at once. A great blend of pin lights and sounds, music, and 25 or so people having a great time. Here's a pic of two of our elders enjoying WH2O. The lady on the left is 87 , the lady on the right is 101 ! They were all excited because when they were kids, pinball was associated with "shady people" and they were never exposed to it. I think they felt a little "naughty" playing. Lol
I have a video of them playing that is priceless to us Food Bank workers. They're coaching each other ("swing ! , swing ! , Oh my God ! You hit it ! , You hit it !")
As Pinsiders, we're all use to the arcade feel of our basements and game rooms. But to people that have never seen all of the lights and sounds from pins and walls full of motion beer signs , all while hearing a good sound system , it can be quite a first time experience for them. One of my co-workers remarked that he felt like he died and went to heaven. He said he always loved arcades as a kid. It's definitely going take place again next year. A great time was had by all.
