If you are new to pinball you may want to get something that is brand new and not used. I would hate for you to get a used machine (although the older machines are great), only to have some issues and it not work properly. JJP and Stern make some good games that are ready to ship. I would look into gameplay videos of games like:

Wizard of Oz
The Hobbit
Dialed In
Edit: I see now that CrazyLevi and I had the same thought. Also his recommendation of MMR (Medieval Madness Remake) is perfect. That would probably be my recommendation to you.
