It would be 1968 for me, as an 8 year old walking to elementary school.
I stopped into the corner candy store, luncheonette on Atlantic Avenue in Baldwin NY, to grab some
wax lips and wax bottles before school.
I saw them setting up Shangri-La, and was late for school, watching the set up.
I skipped spending my lunch money, and headed over after class.
For the rest of the school year, I was hooked!
It had a Gate that opened and returned the ball to the Shooter Lane!
OMG! That was amazing!
I became good enough to rack up credits with the special when lit center spun by.
I remember the first few times, my parents went looking for me, even calling the police, because I didnt come home,
only to find me grunting at the game!
