Quoted from Bax1:

more video modes!!!! always love the mini game on the dmd

Can you imagine what they could create, now that we can see the screen and detail!!!??

It wouldnt have to be intensely long and take away from the game, but boy with good code, and a variety of them, id love to see it!

If They make a replacement LCD for Junkyard, that Id love to see too!

AmH has a flappy bird clone that works well with basic flipper button, and it fits the era. I hope jersey jack does some good video modes with dialed in. Giant screen, phone input means all the virtual buttons you could ever want

I like the disappearing ball effect on TOTAN for multiball.

they could even put one in ghostbusters. I thought there was a video mode the first time I played it but it wasn't. The mode when you are driving the car. Could be easy to add and would be awesome to see.
I agree on junkyard. that would look awesome on a color lcd for sure.

Oh yes, and make another game with the cage ball saver!!! Love those!

I could see a raised shot, at the end of say a line of drop targets, that sucks the ball down too!

I miss red or orange DMD displays

#58 7 years ago

Real knockers for sure, can't believe Stern had to cheap on that. The screetch sound is horrible.

#59 7 years ago

I would hope some manufacturers might visit the thread for ideas.

Certainly, its clear, we all want that extra solenoid......we want knockers!

Now, im thinking about that Zaccaria.....any one have this?
Ever seen one available, like with Adam?

#60 7 years ago

Another vote for MagnaSave. Jungle Lord rules!

#61 7 years ago

Electro-Mechanical

#62 7 years ago

Knockers Or Bigger Knockers or multiple knockers..

#63 7 years ago

Cash payouts.

LTG : )

#64 7 years ago

You remembered me, Lloyd!

I so badly would love to see Pins in Casinos with a Cash Payout feature!

Not worried about Fiorello La G.

LTG : )

That's what made the bingo pins so great back in the day -- cash payouts!

#66 7 years ago

I was hoping to see rollovers on aerosmith.

#67 7 years ago

Zipper Flippers (like in Fireball ;-})

#68 7 years ago

What would happen if a kinda retro, not quite whoa nellie was made with all of these!

Zipper Flippers, knockers, Vari target, roto target, in lane drop targets, savable outlanes,
Magna save.....

Just pack them all in and pick a theme!!!

How cool!...Id buy it, but with a color screen!

#69 7 years ago

Sequential drop targets

#70 7 years ago

Since no one else has mentioned them, chimes along with authentic knockers.

#71 7 years ago

Oh yeah.. More inline drop targets! I can't get enough of them!!
~Steveo

#72 7 years ago

Inline drop targets
Backglass (with mirror accents if theme fits...and nipples... Farfalla for example)
Polished metal ramps
Good music....TX Sector as example
Playfield art that made you stop and stare....Centaur/Sorcerer/Paragon/Flash Gordon (and nipples)
Cabinet art that made you stop and stare.....Bride of Pinbot, Lost World, Space Invaders, Centaur, Xenon

#73 7 years ago

lower playfield sloped away from the player, as in Black hole.

Humor!

References to other games. The first time I heard "It's not plugged in yet!" in MB I teared up from laughing so hard. I don't think it's a direct reference between MB and TAF, but it still killed me. BOP having PinBot in there is great. I'm sure there are more, but I'd love to see more of these. It's tough with licensed themes I guess, but there's no reason GB couldn't have had Ernie read a few words from an AC/DC or Metallica song in an appropriate place. Or have Burt Ward quote Star Trek randomly in BM66.

#75 7 years ago

I liked linear targets, what was the last game with those? Bad Cats? It's really satisfing when the ball pushes way up.

#76 7 years ago

Metallica has inline drop targets. They're awesome.

Speaking of which, I'd like to see another game with the Double trouble targets.

Animated backglass.

Homepin will be installing real knockers in their machines. The mechanical, not biological kind...lol. I can't wait to see their new TAG machine later this year.

Homepin should be concerning for Stern. Labor & parts costs being what they are in China, they should be able to produce pins well under Stern & JJ's current prices.
Now, quality of construction, game play & programming yet TBD.... I'm looking forward to seeing Thunderbirds in action!

#81 7 years ago

Computer controlled drop targets that are used with a purpose.
Actual fully designed backglasses made of glass with proper mirroring.

#82 7 years ago

Nudge back lanes and pop bumpers in the outlane. I think it's great that Woz had this just hopefully more will add this feature. I also like toys that capture the ball. Ferris wheel, gum ball machine, etc

There's a bunch of quotes from previous Lawlor games in TZ too. I always loved that and made me want a Funhouse after owning TAF and TZ

#84 7 years ago

I love the Time Expander in Doctor Who, which is sort of similar to the Zaccaria play field in Time Machine. Anybody know if that was intentional?

NO gobble holes! My least favorite feature ever!!!

These aren't "old" features, but:
I would also like to see a way to swap out flippers, which would change the feel of the game. You have normal flippers at first, then they rotate around to the banana style ones, for example. Could be a punishment for missing a shot!

A variable miniplayfield would be cool, too - maybe it has an LCD screen underneath that changes the goals or the theme of the area. For example, in WOZ the castle might be able to become the tin woodsman' house

#85 7 years ago

Real Art! Not Photoshop!
Mirrored, Real Glass Backglass
And how about some Non Licensed Themes

#86 7 years ago

I like mechanical stuff on the playfield that moves and reacts to the ball. The ship on POTC is a really good example.

#87 7 years ago

clear that holds up.

#88 7 years ago

Drop targets, shit talking games that goad you into playing and replaying them (like Funhouse), more games with humor, real artwork, mirrored backglasses, infinity backglasses, animations in the backglass.

#89 7 years ago
Quoted from Syco54645:

clear that holds up.

I'd like them to use the same lacquer they used on old EM's.

Uneven flipper bats!

5 balls-5 cents

#92 7 years ago

Vari Targets - Love em, that's one of the reasons I own both an RBION and a Bad Cats haha.

The other feature I would LOVE Stern or someone to implement are something akin to Premier's kicking standup targets. Always enjoyed the action from those.

#93 7 years ago

Another vote for magna-save.
Like on Black Knight- first you have to earn it- then you feel like a super hero when you save. And the Black Knight laughs at you when you are to late.

What game has these?

On magna saves, which is better?

User controlled, as in WCS?
or Feature controlled, as in Golden Eye?

I want a scoop that leads to a subway. Like Ball Lock on IJ or Start Mission and Neutral Zone on STTNG. It's very fun having a mode where you keep hitting the scoop and then the auto-launcher can feed the ball back into play.

Second on my wish list, and this is still done on rare occasions, is a ramp diverter. Back to those same two games, the diverter on STTNG that feeds the Borg ship, or the right ramp diverter on IJ that can feed either the POA or the left return guide. I really like when a ramp can change behavior based on what's going on in the game. Avengers has this and I really like it, but you just don't see if often on Sterns.

Don't like the theme of the shadow, but I do dig the lane switches on the ramps

I agree with all those who have mentioned bringing humor back into pinball. I'm trying to remember the last game has call outs that actually crack me up and I went all the way back to maybe TSPP and before that MB. Pinball is supposed to be fun and while I enjoy a good intense game of Tron or Game Of Thrones, hearing the bickering of Red and Ted on my Road Show will never get old. Also, bring back the weird. I just got a Tommy and some of the modes and animations are just downright bizarre. I know Pete Townshend is of course part of it, but some of the dots are really freaky (evil clowns).

I'd love to see another situation like MM where they get comedians to spin out a bunch of one-liners that can be put into rotational use.
