Ive been thinking about this a bit.

The obvious answer is old prices, so we can declare that the answer, and move past it, please.

Would you like manufactures to put back playfield hinges?, 100% or Capcom or better type?
How about chimes?, or All Glass Backglasses?

Maybe its an old toy or feature...I love Roto targets......as well as some of the crazy outlanes like in Flip Flop?

Maybe their are toys and features Ive never seen or played, and Ill learn here.

Only stuff that has existed before......Im looking forward to playing some new (old) Games!

Magna-save was great
drop target banks
roto targets
backglasses
backglass light effects

#3 7 years ago

Vari-Targets

Real backglass with lighted areas and ball in play lights.

2" flippers

Chimes

5 cents a game pricing.

#4 7 years ago

Another vote for Magna Save.
Very cool feeling as a player to save a sure drain with the magnet.
Probably wouldn't be that hard to implement into modern games.

#5 7 years ago

Gobble holes and lane gates.

#6 7 years ago

talking heads (rudy, red & ted)

#7 7 years ago

Inline drop target banks like in EBD.

#8 7 years ago

Under playfield ramps. You see a ball going bellow on one spot and appears on the opposite side of the pf.

Ghostbusters has this,so....

I really like the old vari-targets that Gottlieb used.

#12 7 years ago

humor

playfulness (cows, studpid stuff like Fluffy the Vampire)

#13 7 years ago

More polished metal parts and wireforms.

Inline drops are fun.

Rollovers are cool.

Subways.

Stainless coin doors and armour.

#14 7 years ago

Talking heads! Rudy, Red and Ted!

#15 7 years ago

Real back glass, more spinners and drops.

I always imagined if I ever did a SAW re-theme, I would have a talking head version of Billy the doll.

More polished metal parts

While stainless is likely to keep it's look, I do miss a nice shiny chrome ramp.. Like early 80's williams (sorcerer)

Real knockers (honestly it boggles my mind how rare this feature is these days, since it's such an iconic and satisfying pinball sound).

Variety on the lower third of the playfield. Lower pop bumpers, different inlane/outlane configurations, save gates, spot targets (think Spirit or Heavy Metal Meltdown), scissor flippers, nudge save inlanes, etc. Really any variety at all would be welcome.

#20 7 years ago

comedy
nudge back lanes (Centaur, TX sector, viking)
Custom music that is awesome
More thought into the immersion of light sound and call out (i.e. great multiball start like TAF; Gb is pretty good in this respect)

+1 love the knocker on my Circus (three rapid knocks) when you beat the high score, loud and satisfying!

This would be my response exactly.

Real knockers, fake knockers, I like them all.

#24 7 years ago

How about quality - a NIB where you don't have to find out where that screw in the bottom goes to

#25 7 years ago

Anything besides the normal in lane / outlane setup. Centaur, Skateball, Spirit, Black Knight, Future Spa, flipsave, etc.

#26 7 years ago

25 cent games, real replay knockers and 5 ball games...........and no "too quick drain" ball saves.........

#27 7 years ago

Real backglass with lighted areas and ball in play lights,
spinners
polished metal parts and wireforms
pop bumpers

#28 7 years ago

Anything unique found only one game or two from years gone by......

#29 7 years ago

Stern did that on RBION, quite fun.

I for one would love to see a modern game with a roto target. Had a lot of fun playing an em at a part with one.

#30 7 years ago

rising center post that you could activate by hitting certain shots.

#31 7 years ago

Hot babes on backglasses

#32 7 years ago

Animation on the back glass (not video)

#33 7 years ago

A backglass spinner like in Jive Time.

#35 7 years ago

I've got one; how aboot targetable mini posts like in Bally Rolling Stones? Don't know what they called them but you hit them they can make a sound effect. Always thought that was a weird one but kind of cool.

All the newer Sterns have spinners...well i don;t know aboot BM66 but all the new releases

#36 7 years ago

Alpha numerics. I miss the simplicity.

#37 7 years ago

Inline drop targets are always a satisfying shot to make.

But personally, I just wish manufacturers were more willing to take risks with their designs. Everything today seems so predictable.

nipples!

we need more nipples! I like them and good backglass art has them!

#39 7 years ago

Original themes with good hand drawn artwork. Inline drops, Roto target, metal ramps & wireforms (no cheesy plastic!), real knockers, Vari-targets, silk screened backglasses....

Yeah, nipples too. We need Dave Christensen back.

#40 7 years ago

Inline drops, metal ramps, wireforms are all used today.

#41 7 years ago
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

as well as some of the crazy outlanes like in Flip Flop?

Flip Flop is my shizz, but for crazy outlanes my pick would be Roller Coaster all day!

#42 7 years ago

Zipper Flippers - wasn't the last game to have them Bally's Medusa?

#43 7 years ago

I'd like to see them produce more machines with bolted down heads that you can remove instead of the fold down. removable heads are much easier to transport.

#44 7 years ago
Quoted from ForceFlow:

A rotating set of stand up targets. Kind of a neat feature:

A raising & lowering playfield on Time Machine:

A multi-position drop target:

Thanks Adam! Never saw these!

Thumbs up on Zipper Flippers, how about on a mini playfield with crazy targets!

Saw one of those for sale on craigslist the other day. I think it was in Winchester just outside Louisville Ky.

Wow-that raising and lowering playfield looks crazy!

#48 7 years ago

Oh yes! could you have seen this done in Batman!!!???

#49 7 years ago

more video modes!!!! always love the mini game on the dmd

#50 7 years ago

Real knockers.
The Stern squelch is annoying. Ain't nothing better than that hard "pop" of a knocker. It would probably get people's attention more in a barcade full of digital sounds.
