    A gaping deficiency in modern machines: Ability to remotely access their data.

    Am I wrong about this? Most modern equipment (solar charge controllers, even doorbells) have a mechanism for remote data access.

    I'm afraid that this needs to be built in by the manufacturers and can't be cobbled on.

    i had an idea about dumping ram contents with wifi but never really explored it. Then could get high score data or whatever you wanted out of it post it into a high score displaying app or something.

    Yeah, I want to see your kiddy cam on my DMD ( - !

    It might also be doable by intercepting the link to the display subsystem. Not sure how they work but in MMR the color "ROM" is actually a PIC processor.
