Easy question, I have played it once and enjoyed it. Thinking of getting one.............
Don't really know the rules, shots etc.
So why is it so popular? Great Rules? Satisfying shots. Humor? Random cool stuff that is amazing?
Thanks

Its so good! You build up the song JP and your thinking, just a few more shots and I can cash this huge JP 2x in then, oops its all gone. Its so frustrating but when you pull it off its magical. The lighting, flow, music(if your into ac/dc) some of the art..... is really ugly but uhhh its still awesome! It has a BSD type of satisfaction that keeps me coming back for more punishment. My only criticism is that some of the modes are to risky vs reward so they end up not being played to often, still fun though. Wish I could afford one!
It's the perfect storm of great music, great look and great game all round. I fear for my wallet if Metallica is this good or better....AC/DC Pro is my all time favourite pinball machine. I bought Tron at Christmas time, but have now come back to playing AC/DC again and still get the same joy out of it as I did the moment it arrived in the house in May 2012. LOVE IT!!!
Cheers!
Adam.

True. However a good thing as it's been over a year since it's release and yet it's still being discussed. They definately made a winner on this title. I do think having the premium version has been a main contributor to the success.

This. It can be brutal - you will need to be physical with this game, or you'll see lots of short ball times. Hell, just be prepared to get your butt kicked repeatedly - but who wants to drop cash on a NIB that is easy/has no challenge/staying power? This pin has nailed the balance of frustration/reward just right, to where you just keep coming back over and over.
I've found a secret however; the louder the volume, the better I've played so far!
...plus, I think the box is cool
Like most of the other great games, its a bit of everything which combined makes for a fun experience. Bunch of modes with rules which are well thought out with each other and the playfield layout, lots of stacking, shot options with the backhands, lower pf, light show, music selection, flow, artwork, nice dots, danger, frustration and fun. Individually each thing is good, but together they just gel into a great package.
