Also got a D&D from the same pinsider. Never seen or played it, but I love Hardbody's flex save and took a gamble. Very unique layout and kickass music.

A friend of mine was the artist that did the backglass on the Dungeon & Dragons game, His name is Larry Elmore. One of the nicest guys you will ever met.

(he actually did the art on the Alien's face you see in my pinside avatar)

A good friend of mine did the art on that back glass his name is Larry Elmore.

Well....to be more specific Larry did that illustration for TSR, who made it hugely recognizable putting it on the D&D boxed set.... then they re used it on this back glass.

Well it's not a pin but this followed me home today. I've wanted one of these since i was in high school. At least you can see my pins in the background so I'm not breaking any rules right?

I bought a Blitz99 for $20 last week. Actually the guy was going to give it to me,but I have give him something.

I have to say that this is my favorite thread on pinside. I can't explain why but I love seeing pics of machines loaded in vehicles going to/arriving at their new homes. I've got a problem I think.

Yeah, I have the same problem as you. I enjoy it like watching the thrill of the hunt. Living vicariously through someone that has found a great deal. Quite a bit less so when the pin is a brand new stern arriving off a shipping truck.

Quoted from dudah:

Some recon and socializing paid off today. Picked up this very nice BSD from a home where it's been for the last 15 years. Playfield needs some work but should clean up nice. The real kicker is the PERFECT cabinet decals! Inside and under playfield is also very clean!

bsd2_(resized).jpgbsd1_(resized).jpg

Nice... you could eat off that cabinet interior. You can always tell a lot about a games history from the cabinet interior.

Quoted from dothedoo:

Bought at the TPF swap meet:
Stern Hot Hand (I have a very nice playfield at home)
2 Stern Lectronamos with good glass
Gamatron NOS playfield (will go in one of the Lectronamo cabs)

That Gamatron playfield layout is damn near identical to Stern's Flight 2000...cool

Nice unrestored KISS Bally came home with me today. Guy had it since the 90's, did not even know how to remove the lock down bar. Fortunately the guy he bought it from, deinstalled the MPU battery and did an inside back box battery mount. This was the least damaged MPU board I have ever seen. No corrosion on any of the metal under the play field everything look like day one... I am astonished. NO loose inserts either.

I can not wait to vacuum out the playfield and gently clean the 20 years of dust off the surface and see what lies beneath.

Perfect restore candidate.

Quoted from Lethal_Inc:

Did you get a good deal on it?

i was pleased at the price. And at what I paid for it i think have a couple of options.
-Restore it myself and try to sell high ( then I can play & enjoy it for a while)
-Sell it soon as is, let someone else do the restore.
-Trade it for a mid 90's pin or later (or trade for project TZ, MB, IJ, TOM, RBION or trade towards a better condition versions of the same)

I love the Bally Kiss and I always wanted this machine, but there are a few that I would rather have first/ instead.

HA HA HA That is the funniest thing I have seen in a while. Planning is not a part of the Pinball hobby. Pinball machines are like homeless animals, they follow you home.

Then you ask the person who makes the rules... "Can I keep it?"

Very nice Mr & Mrs Pac-Man. Fantastic back glass and play field! Nothing like being the first person to ever service a set of original boards. The displays were even original. Was stored in a finished climate controlled basement for the past 25 years. Gonna fix it's few issues and send her on her way.

Hmmn.. I got it for quite a bit less than when the sold NIB back in the day? - (And yes Vid.. although the guy was dead, I still left cash on his corpse. I'm fair.)
Already cleaned and LED'd, just needs a rebuild, tweeking, and a pingulp or 4.
(Edit - After research on the 2003/4 NIB price, I saved enough to buy another minty Laser War. Teets)

I would have written him a check and left it on his corpse instead.

I'm fairly new to this and am taking the bottom feeder approach for two reasons. It doesn't cost as much if I ruin a machine while I learn how to work on them. I also have my discretionary pinball spending throttled (wife card). This is my third pin since March and second nonfunctional pin. This one will be my first SS project.

One of the best Silverball Mania play fields I have ever seen. They are usually trashed. Nice pick up.

After two months, my wishlist grail game arrived from Kentucky!!
Friend made the round trip for me 12 hours each way for a great price. Needs some work and the front of the cab is a little rough, but I could care less. Game will get restored either way. The true vampire trifecta is complete (at least for U.S. manufactured games)!!!! So psyched. This was only the third one I've come across since getting into the hobby, not an easy game to find with only 799 made.

Beautiful Bally Star Trek that I recently picked up just put a stop to my plans to restore another rough one that I have. I should be able to nearly cover the cost of this machine buy reselling my CPR Bally Star Trek Playfield and Plastic set. Finally good vintage machine that does not need a major restoration.

I am going eventually do a restore on it, until then I am going to get it 100% playable and enjoy it until restore time.

Beautiful Revenge From Mars!

I was told it had a very dim monitor, got an excellent deal. I replaced every cap on monitor chassis and the neck board . Then discovered a bent pin in yoke of the picture tube where the neck board attaches. After the re-cap and the adjusted pin it worked perfectly.

Seller gave me a copy of the original receipt where he purchased it from an arcade in 1997 for $2850. It sat in his house ever since. Not a lot of plays. Needs a good tuneup and clean up but should be real sweet once that's done.

Geez, I sort of want to say the dude paid too much in 1997 for it at $2850 after two years on location. What was the retail on this pin in 1995?

I just remember hearing on some Todd Tuckey video he mention the many of the 90's Bally Williams game going for $750-$1000 when they were pulled off location.

I recently bought a Motordome. Long story short I got at a good price but put FAR too much time in for the price I sold it for a few weeks later.

New pin connectors as needed on the MPU, Serviced the power board. Fixed sound issue. Totally depopulated the PF and ultrasonically cleaned ever bit of the hardware. Fixed a GI Light issue. Buffed Mylar with headlight cleaner. Replaced a missing target. Cleaned the contacts in every switch. changed out a few diodes and replaced many switch caps. Re-Epoxyed a very large insert. Cleaned and waxed PF. Polished stainless parts. Cleaned and flame polished extensive ramp system. Rebuilt and added new rubbers.

A lot of work can make a poor looking game look so much better.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you give for it? You can pm me if you'd like. I'm looking at one now, but I think their asking too much.

I hit one out of Louisville last year at $800, and then saw a better one get listed on CL for $650 (it was pretty nice). The thing was that the guy that sold the one for $650 had sent me pics of it and would not give me a price, nor respond when I asked him about it a second time. I would been thrilled to have paid him $650 for his. It of course lasted on CL for the typical 10 minutes.

I sold it for $850. I do not think it very accurately valued here on pinside.. It is listed on Pinside with a value of $460-$550... but I am sorry the game is from 1986, but IMO any mid-80's that has been totally shopped and serviced is worth $800ish. At any rates I lost money with 30-40 hours I put in to her. But I learned some more about the Bally 6803 board set... so it is all cool.

This has been the same home non-smoking home for 12 years and in that time it saw only 600 plays (600 plays since 2006). And from the look of it, it saw very little play before that. Closest condition to a HUO game as I have ever seen.

Playfield plastics, translight, cabinet...all magnificent. super clean inside. Baywatch is not on my short list so I am gonna let her go, maybe trade off to a top 40 game.. or project / players top 15 game
