Finally brought home and set-up an old Straight Shooter pin that was sitting at a collector friend's home (5 hour drive away) for over 6 months.

She ain't the prettiest (yet) and needs tweaking but a fun and challenging woodrail from '59.

Quoted from SilverUnicorn:

ooooh! a Space Duel!!! Nice!
Chris

Yeah, thanks, scored that last month!

After a few years of hunting, I was lucky enough to finally find one, only 20 minutes away! And it plays and looks great! XY monitor is a bit slow to warm up but waiting on a cap kit and LV2K board. I also had the Zector ZVG board w/ custom control panel for years in anticipation but vectorMame project can wait.

Quoted from Bbismuth:

I have an Equinox. I had done me well until I tried picking up a Stargate. Gottlieb System 3's will not fit in an Equinox. The body is much taller than Bally/Williams and Sterns.

I had the same issue with a Cue Ball Wizard and my Tucson but it did fit after I unscrewed the backbox and let it slide down the playfield part of the cabinet.

So damn excited for the Space Harriet Deluxe. Definitely a grail arcade for me.

Nice! That's awesome.

Please make a post with video if/when you get the Space Harriet Deluxe playing.

Real glass on that one or a translite?

Nice, un-faded, un-flaky backglass! Playfield is in great shape too! Very lucky.

Looking forward to updating with the seymourshabow rom. Fun, Harry Williams game.

Skateball next to Stars looks cool too.

My turn Just 5 mins away from my place..totally spur of the moment purchase. It's a players machine for sure

Congrats! The game that saved pinball in the 80's!

... arguably. But simple, excellent, fast play, imho. Getting that beacon light going, bitd, was spine-tingling! Awesome.

My first pin. Not going anywhere. Un-pin-addicted visitors are drawn to it.

The game I brought home the other day!

... but not a pin! *gasp*

I'm super excited to finally have a game.

Congrats! "The game that saved pinball!"

High Speed was my first too. I can still feel the rush of the rotating police beacon and siren multi-ball, remembering the excited onlookers back-in-the-day. But multi-ball doesn't last long. Gotta do it again! ... and again!

The middle game looks like Spirit. What are the other two?

Nope, not Spirit.

Q*bert's Quest, Haunted House and Eclipse (in a James Bond 007 cab).

Came home with this gem today, needs some work but for $100 I’m happy! Sounds strange but my first foray into SS machines. Usually it’s the other way around.

Wow! $100?!? That's awesome. One of the best pins, imho.

Quoted from mmuglia:

I brought home a HUO IronMan today to complete my super hero row.

Quoted from PinballManiac40:

Complete super hero row, you say. I must ask where is Batman Forever, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Batman 66?
Nice current collection that is.

Ummm, yeah, and what about Gottlieb Hulk, Gottlieb Spider-man, and Atari Superman???

Quoted from Mopar:

I had this for a little while, but I believe it's the last pin that I had gotten in. The backglass is a
rare nice original. The only bad thing are the plastics which I do have new repros..
It'll be leaving before long for it is traded toward one of the last machines yet on my wanted list
which I'll post after it comes in.. (T)

It would be great to see a better gameplay video of the '49 Gottlieb King Arthur and his Round Table:

My son is 10. My daughter is 13. I miss them as babies, which is why I brought this one home.

NOT!

My Ms. Pac will appreciate Baby Pac's company!

Take your negativity elsewhere. This thread is a decent one where people can be happy for others. That's why I love coming in here every day!

Geez louise, I was kiddin' around!

Like finnflash mentioned, they're the same game! ... except Card Whiz is 2-player and Royal Flush is 4-player.

Welcome to the pin ball hobby!

Quoted from alimerick:

El Dorado, Solar City, Lucky Strike, Gold Strike, El Dorado City of gold, Target Alpha all have the same playfield. Different rules and art.

All have the same basic layout but El Dorado playfield is slightly different physically from the multiplayer versions.

Starting from the top of the playfield, it has a 'Special' insert just below the drop-target inserts, a 'Moves spot' rollover just below that, and does not have the 'Double bonus' or 'extra ball' inserts close to the flippers. A couple extra inserts in the lanes next to the flippers and one extra insert in the upper-right 'skill shot' area. Target values are also very different.

City of Gold obviously has far more inserts.

Good find. The bigger question is why/how is it the body is positioned that way in your vehicle?

That's how older pins like to relax in the backseat of my older Accord.

Nice classic Sega arcade cab. Never played that game. And no side-art, eh? You should make some!

Years ago, I actually re-created and supplied the Zaxxon side-art files for ThisOldGame.com.

Quoted from sixtyfourbits:

Brought home a game from my wishlist today, and a HUO copy at that! It turned out to be a 16 hour drive and I didn’t get home till 5:30am, but it was worth it.
It’s in amazing shape. I’m the second owner now. The previous one bought it brand new in 2006, brought it into his basement in its shipping crate, and it was there for 13 years until today.
He said he played it a couple times, realized he preferred his Harlem globetrotters pin a lot more, and barely touched monopoly again after that. And I believe him. It looks factory fresh.
The seller never put that it was HUO or that it was barely ever played in the ad, so that was definitely a nice surprise.
It’s my first stern, and it plays beautifully!

Quoted from Mathazar:

Scored a pin today that I've been wanting for a long, long time. Local (9 miles away.....no shipping!), well below market price, routed for its first 5 years and then spent the last 22 years with the family that I bought it from. I played a bunch of games on it and everything seems to work pretty well. Playfield looks great and cabinet has only a few dings here and there. Now I've just got to figure out how to get this behemoth down the stairs to my basement game room![quoted image][quoted image]

Make it so!
