Quoted from Spyderturbo007:Quoted from TenaciousT:
The first thing you say getting into this hobby is " I didn't know you could even buy a pinball for home " .The next thing you say seems to be along the lines of "Shit, I need more room".
I always knew you could buy for home, my delay was a electrician friend told me my fuse box was maxed out and everything would have to be re-done with a larger fuse box. Finally one day it hit me.. if I am playing pinball it means the jacuzzi, shop, or nothing else will be running, so I do have plenty of power.
Yeah, 2nd thing... I started looking around at what I could move or discard for more.
My personal 3rd thing is the phone would ring, gf "what are you doing"? me, "I am driving". gf "are you on your way to get another pinball machine"? me, "yeah, I will tell you about it when I get back".
Quoted from VALIS666:Traded for a Houdini today, fun game! I definitely want to check out Oktoberfest now
I did it backwards. I picked up a Oktoberfest a few months ago and liked it so much I picked up a Houdini last week.
Both games are very fun!
I'm not doing it, I start too many topics anyway, but I think it would be funny if we had a:
What machine did you sell today?
(have pics of the buyer leaving with it, and post what about the game you were just tired of, or whatever).
Quoted from Puffdanny:One thing you have going for you is pretty much whatever you get next will be cheaper
Unless you want a JJPPOTC.
Quoted from sunnRAT:Comet, Cyclone, and Hurricane have roller coasters featured prominently in the art.
Oktoberfest has a pretty good roller coaster also.
Quoted from ccbiggsoo7:play it, don't hump it!
I had been thinking the same thing.
I thought it would be funny to do one of those "unhide" buttons over it, but I would never do that and tick anyone off.
BUT, it would be funny!
Quoted from alexanr1:Love seeing the smiles as people bring home new machines.
I am out of space now, until something comes along and I start thinking... well, I can move all this and this, and fit this here then.
This is my 2nd favorite topic, Dogs Rule is my fav.
Good Luck and stay safe on all your road trips!
I wish all of you the best!
Quoted from alexanr1:Pinball was meant to be 5 ball
Quoted from Colsond3:No way...3 ball is where it’s at.
I have played a good bit of pinball since around 1978, and I have never played a game that was set on 5 ball, had never even heard of it.
Until just now, the only time I have even heard 5 ball being mentioned was when I invited a old timer over that fixed my mowers for cheap, and he was complaining about only 3 balls, pinball is supposed to have 5.
I thought the dude was crazy, until I was looking around in settings one time in a game, and seen it had a setting for 5 ball.
I would never turn any of my games to 5 ball, just seems weird, after always being used to 3 ball myself.
And that pitch and bat I picked up a while back is still fun for a few games a few times a week. It is not going anywhere.
Quoted from GTO:I'm good with 5-ball for home use
I have been tempted to set to 5 ball, so I can maybe get deeper in a game, but so far I have stayed old school, and stuck with the 3 ball games.
Crap, now I regret selling some games I was tired of, had I only set them for 5 ball I may would still have some around.
Next time I am thinking about selling a game, now I will switch it to 5 ball, and have a totally new game to try.
We may need to keep this quiet, or the used game market may dry up for a while.
Quoted from cottonm4:Class of 1970.
Damn, I was 2 then, and playing in a sandbox.
Sometimes when topics get off on something else like this it kind of sucks, but not this, and I hope the mods will let it be.
While at the same time I hope soon to see mostly what the topic is supposed to be about mostly again soon.
(but I would never flag anything, or give anyone a thumbs down, I never have and I never will).
We are all friends, we have just never met in person yet.
Quoted from Scotty_K:Oh good. I thought it was just me!
At first I thought it was my computer, it is getting pretty old.
Quoted from Stebel:Got a a HUO Walking Dead pro. Big fan of the show, so it was a natural fit.
I have never seen the show, except one time after I got the game. and one time only, while I care less about the show, TWD has out lasted all the other pins I bought before and after it.
Quoted from swampfire:I’m lucky to live just an hour’s drive from a great distributor, Classic Gamerooms in Covington
40 minutes each way for me. Jason is awesome!
Quoted from GorillaBiscuits:Cleveland is lovely this time of year!
Your pic made me think, damn, that is Jake from the Deadliest Catch TV show that I love.
Is that you Jake?
Quoted from KSUWildcatFan:My next vehicle is going to be an SUV,
Quoted from Green-Machine:I have the same plan!
Quoted from fabsj82:My wife wanted a mini van
If you really like your pickup truck, and only wanting a SUV to keep pins dry, consider just buying a enclosed trailer to tow.
The only insurance I pay on my trailer is 9 bucks every 6 months in case of theft, and the tag for it costs like 12 bucks a year. (it is a 5x10).
I love trailers, because they save a lot on insurance costs, and maintenance costs.
My trailer has a camping toilet in it, in case I am stuck behind a wreck somewhere for hours, another plus of a enclosed trailer.
I just wanted to give everyone something else to think about. A enclosed trailer may can save you a whole lot of money for more pins.
Quoted from KSUWildcatFan:aren't enclosed trailers kinda expensive?
I just looked at my local craigslist, and there is a 5x8 in good shape for $850.00.
The main savings is not having to pay insurance on another vehicle.
Quoted from TheShaft:After hearing all these stories of how fast pins multiply
The games are going to fade very quick also if that window they are next to has direct sunlight.
Awesome games!
Quoted from BrianJ1337:Pretty stoked it's my first arcade!
Those seem to also multiply like pinball machines!
Quoted from Zartan:I have the chance to buy a coke machine exactly like this! $240. I am hesitant about it.
35 years ago, I bought a Pepsi machine for $50.00, but I had a good location for it to make money.
Quoted from pinballfantasies:How is Houdini?
It is ok, but was short lived for me. On the other hand Oktoberfest is a keeper.
We are all different, and that is a good thing.
Quoted from smoothbore19:Not a pin but a nice shape 8ft coin operated Dynamo air hockey
Sweet!
I always wanted one of those, and my current girlfriend that is a keeper, I asked air hockey or ping pong table for the space I have for a large game, and she hates air hockey, so ended up with a ping pong table.
Variety is nice!
Quoted from TroyS:Almost there. Let it be a deal! It’s a modern Stern, any guesses?
Supreme
