This is the 5th machine I bought since entering the hobby about two years ago, figured it was time to post in this thread. I got this one from fellow pinsider @brobra. Very cool guy who I would definitely buy from again!

Ok, who got this one? I messaged the seller 30min after the ad was posted but someone was already there loading it up. Seller was pretty floored when I told her what they usually go for.

Quoted from Vespula:

no research got them screwed out of a lot of money.
What do these go for, out of curiosity, as I want to know how bad they felt after you told them...

I told her 2500 would have been a fair asking price...pinside estimate is 2400-2800. Yeah she was pretty bummed. This wasn't a machine I normally would go after but for the price I would've loved to take it home, oh well. About the 3rd time this year I missed out on a super low priced machine...I need to change my alert settings or something.

Quoted from aaron6920:

My wife saw that one we live under two hours away but I never messaged I was like we are already out of room and Street Fighter...... oh man......

It was 3 hrs from me so I figured by the time I got there someone would have messaged the seller and told them they were selling too low. But really for the price, and if you have room why not.

Oh well, one day it will be my turn to buy a machine drastically underpriced

Saw some cool machines!

Lol, 2k for Street Fighter II is insane especially in Iowa! They sit all the time for that money. It’s just an awful game.
Price was fine!

I've only seen one sold in Iowa in the last 2 yrs and it sold within one day at 2k. Not saying it's a great game, but definitely worth more than $800.

That Terrific Lake is sweet! What is it a re-theme of?

I've been wanting one for a while and finally was able to pick up a firepower. Sorry, I forgot to do a pic in the vehicle.

Picked up a Very dirty metoer. It's playable but is going to need some love. Displays are wonky, several hacks I will need to adress and probably many more issues. Not bad for $300 though.

Quoted from Kolk1:

Where are you located? Wanna sell it? I need one to put next to my Galaxy. lol

I'm in north west IA. I'm going to shop it out and fix the major issues. I'll probably sell it when the family gets tired of it...

Quoted from Ballypin:

Well, for $ 300, I'm sure his phone blew up and I'm surprised he sold it to the guy in Iowa for the original listed price. I saw the ad early too and I am only about 30 minutes away. If I wanted it, I wouldn't ask for more pictures but would have said "I will take it, I have cash in hand and leaving now or will pay you in full via Paypal and send me your address."

Quoted from Ballypin:

AND he drove 1500 miles round trip and about $ 200 in gas to Cincinnati to get it. That's dedication but still a good buy.

No I didn't. You have this confused with another machine. I bought this in Iowa not Cincinnati.

Nothing! Machine was in much worse shape than advertised. Didnt boot up, severe acid damage to MPU. Playfeild was trashed and had several areas of amazingly awful touchup. Beat to crap cabinet, "great shape" and HUO were the descriptions. Seller Googled the machine so "new what it was worth" and wouldn't budge from asking price even after I pointed out the numerous issues. Hurts to walk away but oh well.

Quoted from poppapin:

Wow, was it advertised as working? That sucks man.

Advertised as "just stopped working, but was working great". Probablly hadnt worked in a decade or more. I was expecting a minor project. It wasn't going to be worth my time and effort to repair it for what he was asking so I had to pass. Partly my fault, I shouldve asked for better pictures. The owner was elderly and a non pinball guy. Grandson (also not a pinball guy) was selling it for him, grandson looked up the price and "knew he could get a lot more than I offered." I told him good luck.

Quoted from Wmsfan-GAP:

Hopefully you didn’t have to drive far.

3hrs 1 way....yep, sucks to suck. It's alright though, my oldest son came with me and we got to spend time together, so not totally wasted.

I live in a total pinball deadzone, every machine I've bought so far (10 or so) has been at least a 3hr, 1 way drive from me. The last several have been non working projects from nonpinball people that usually just want the machine gone so I don't bother asking for a bunch of pictures and usually just show up, and negotiate the price. It's worked fine up until now.

Quoted from egyptrus:

No deal is ALWAYS better than a bad deal. While it stinks to have to walk away with nothing, you'll feel better about yourself knowing you didn't get taken by this knucklehead.

That was my thought as well. The guy just marked the machine as sold so someone else's problem now. I need to finish my hardtop install in my firepower anyway before I get distracted by another project.

Quoted from pinmister:

I have noticed a ton of people mis-using the term HUO in the last year or two. Often times they are newbies or non pinheads but it is starting to become the joke using HUO terminology.
The best is when they claim HUO and the coin slots are worn to shit from coin drop. Good job walking away-I would have given him a good piece of my mind before leaving for exaggerating condition.

Yep. Definetely had been on location at one point in its life. It really wasn't a desirable title for me, but the price was decent....or at least I thought until I saw the condition and started mentally adding up how much I'd have to put into it. Oh well. Lesson learned. Ask for better pictures next time.

Quoted from Darkwing:

Sadly it was time for Raven go, but welcome to another awesome game, Escape from the Lost World!
[quoted image]

This was the second pinball machine I owned. Had it for about 2 years. It's a very unique and fun game. It's known for having a bad sound track but I never minded the sounds. I put comet fire bulbs under the lava in the center insert, made it had a really sweet effect. I would definitely buy this one again.

#27896 4 months ago
Quoted from Darkwing:

I thought the sounds were kinda cool, especially when it does the jingle at the end of each ball with a different instrument/sample lol.

I had no problem with the sounds either. I liked all the "jungle noises". Can you ESCAPE?!
