Been lurking on this site for a while but finally decided to make an account. I just picked up this JP on Friday and I'm really excited to shop it, mod it, the works. It's overall in nice condition, but the playfield is really dirty. It was already really late when I got home (like 2am) but I wanted to see what I could do with a little Novus 2. As you can see, it will clean up rather nicely.

Next week I'm thinking about getting a Hercules. I heard people really love that game and the deep code that comes with it.

#2673 3 years ago

The backglass on that Nitro Ground Shaker is awesome! Not just the condition, but the actual art on it. Totally boss man.

Need to get that battery off the board ASAP. Doesn't look too bad, but maybe a slight bit of acid damage. Make sure to neutralize it when you remove the battery.

Two weeks ago I posted on here about the new JP I brought home. Well my dad figured it was looking a little lonely so decided to drop this one right next to it. (I didn't really have a good picture of just the FT by itself, my dad was insistent on getting both games in the same picture. So I am shamelessly posting these pictures which includes my JP in the frame.)

The game will need a good cleaning, light bulbs replaced, rubber kit, the normal stuff. My dad is thinking about adding some LEDs to this one but is undecided right now. You can see I've already started to LED the JP, waiting on the rubber kit to do the GIs.

If you only do one thing to the JP, make it this:

Indeed I did. About a week after I bought it I had already researched the code and a friend helped erase the chips and re-burn them. It's amazing with the new code.

Nice score with both games. I always found humor in the Silverball art that SadSack just referenced. Xenon is a great game, but she can be a bitch sometimes. One game you put up 7 figures, the next you barely even use the flippers.

#2888 3 years ago

What they all said. Great looking Silverball, the backglass from your picture looks nice too. Cabinet repair is nothing compared to playfield repair.

Fire. Power.

Barn find, it's a bit of a basket case that will need a lot of work but I'm looking forward to it.

I need to first start with the boards. Pretty bad battery acid damage, but I have certainly seen worse. I'm thinking it should clean up with a little elbow grease, and of course vinegar.

Sorry for crappy photos, it was pretty late last night and dark with a slight bit of rain so had to take these quickly. But if you zoom in enough you can see what I'll be dealing with.

Oh and of course the batteries are already off the board and in the trash. Will do some work tonight sanding and cleaning, removing the old battery holder, checking continuity, etc.

Thanks for the recommendation Vid. I have never heard of or used Sno Bol before. I've used vinegar for most board repairs that had battery acid and it hasn't failed me yet.

Nice pick up. What kind of shape is the Fathom in? How's the playfield?

#3124 3 years ago

A great classic Bally. (Sorry for the blurry picture, I didn't take very many last night.)

Finally found a nice Shadow close by

I think "nice" is an understatement. That thing looks awesome! Alt translight, color DMD, what appears to be a nice and shiny playfield... I'm only basing this off of one picture where we can't see the entire game, but that thing looks awesome! Nice pick up.

#3284 3 years ago

Excellent! I actually couldn't tell if those were LEDs or not. I thought they were, but didn't want to assume. Great looking game, and now I'm pretty jealous.

#3302 3 years ago

Nice World Cup next to it, I also have one of those.

Moved Diner to the darkest corner of the house - no more worries!

Not only is it good for the cabinet to prevent fade, but it will really let you enjoy the light show. Win win.

Picked up this FREE Black Rose today

You can't leave us hanging like that. What is the story behind it? Every pick up has a story behind it, especially if it's free.

If I recall that game has a really weird coin door.

Can confirm that the menu and test "buttons" are not like your standard menu buttons. It's this really weird keypad. I have owned two Motordomes.

Not a pinball and I didn't pick it up today but a few weeks ago. An Alley Cats shuffle alley, intended to sell it but the kids wanted to keep it for a while, it needed some work and while I was at it I brightened it up with new paint and molding. These are fun if you have room.

I would recommend the Sun Glo #1. It is the fastest of all the powder wax and makes a big difference compared to the slower waxes.

Big shout out to Jesperpark for picking up my first Data East pin for me

That crane operator looks way too happy about using that thing.

The Track & Field with the track ball is even worse. I get blisters on my finger tips from the friction of the control panel!

Game looks nice and very clean. Good grab.

Thanks, the cabinet is actually in really good shape, but the playfield has some ball swirl. The pop bumper area is the worst. Why didn't Williams protect that area better? Most Taxi's I've seen have wear around the pop bumpers.

You'll also notice the previous owner has the wrong slingshot plastics and the wrong "carry passengers" plastic. Anyone know where these makeshift plastics are from?

I tend to have to lift the playfield or change some bulbs after buying a machine

For sure, the rest of the game itself looks great.

No backglass or boards at all. But im super excited to have this firepower!

I believe PPS is selling the backglass, and Outside Edge is supposedly working on a new hardtop.
