Quoted from Colsond3:

Saved this from certain death this morning...if the guy didn't sell it by the end of the weekend, he was going to sell it to another guy that wanted to part it out. BG has some minor flaking, but the PF is more than decent and all of the mechs and brackets underneath the PF look like they're brand new. Shiny. Another one saved from the graveyard.

Really don't have the space for this Gottlieb wedgehead, but will be a nice restoration project for the Spring months ahead. I'm sure once I am finish putting my magic touches on the game, I find a place for it.

Might want to put some rubber caster protectors underneath the leg levelers.
Hardwood floors + pinball machines = equals deep scratches

The rubber protectors I bought did not slide on my floor. I went with a sticky back felt pads 1.5" diameter bought at Lowes. They will protect the floor and allow you to move the game for repairs or maintaince.

I finally got around to installing a 1979 Stern Dracula playfield to a coffee table bought off of CR. I know a great carpenter for finish trim and furniture in Toledo. He did the router work to set the glass flush. I bring home the table Sunday.

IMG_4433_(resized).JPGIMG_4433_(resized).JPG

#2579 7 years ago
Quoted from Colsond3:

What happened to the rest of the game? That PF actually looks pretty good, compared to most Stern Drac's that usually have a ton of wear over the face in front of the flippers, and up near the top right drop bank.

I don't know where the rest of the game went. When I bought a pin from a guy off CR he had the playfield missing flippers and he never knew where the rest of it was. I guess it traded hands several times. So I bought the playfield for wall art and then decided to make it into a table. A close look and you can see the top pop bumper has the wrong cap on it and the other 3 are yellowed with age. The plastics are warped too. Sold the drops and stand ups to a friend. Took some time to clean the playfield and install a rink kit to make it look nice and I just ordered 4 new pop bumper caps from Pinball Resource.

Quoted from comment23:

I had to travel under 88 miles per hour to go get this one. 100% but could use some comestic love:

The Delorian had a Speedo that went to 85mph. And as I recall the car would even do that with a stock engine.

from ROAD & TRACK magazine:
Renault 2849-cc V-6 engine develops an only-adequate 130 bhp (SAE net) at 5500 rpm and 162 lb-ft torque at 2750. These are not numbers to impress the crowd, especially considering the car's test weight of 3130 lb. The result is a 0-60 mph time of 10.5 seconds and a quarter-mile performance of 17.9 sec at 76.5 mph.

My neighbor has a DeLorean. He says the stock engine is crap/low power. He says that it would be almost impossible to ramp it up to 88mph.

BTW the 72 Pinto with the 1.6L push rod motor hit a max of 83 mph indicated

I accidently posted the previous pic.
This is the only Bally (from the 70s) glass that
I had gotten in that was in poor shape. The
guy had no clue shipping a glass.
Cardboard and that's it! I placed the bubble
wrap in the pic to keep the USPS ins. from
complaining about the packaging's preparation..
I might add, each piece was mint..

This is how Steve at BGRESTO recommends packing a backglass
http://bgresto.com/?page_id=777

I sold a used King Pin and took it to Fed-Ex. They did the pack and ship so they were 100% responsible.
Yes, it got their fine.

Glad to see you have your priorities straight.
"To hell with the fridge, or the heat; gotta play me some pinball!"

Well it is whole house: heat, A/C, well pump, and the FRIDGE too... gotta keep the beverages COLD.

#14475 4 years ago
Quoted from Micky:

Always important to have cold beverages in a time of need!

Just got tired of 7000 watt generator ( gasoline) and extention cords to feed appliances.
Had to wire up plug on furnace, since I never had crossover box done.
this unit has automatic transfer switch, burns natural gas...problems solved.

in 5 weeks I bought 5 pinball machines in October and November.
So last Wednesday I ask my bride if she wanted to go on road trip to spend $$$$

#15369 3 years ago
Quoted from northerndude:

We can’t assume we know the setup they had to buy. Maybe zero interaction, etc.

IF you assume you make an ASS out of U and ME

a truck with 8 games in it.... NOT ESSENTIAL

a rental = more contact with people
How many stops to collect all 8 games ??? ALL were porch pickups right.
How mane fuel stops along the way ??? contact with pump handles, keypads on credit card machines,...

To stop the spread of this highly contagious virus we all have to STAY THE F AT HOME.

for those who believe they are immune, I will let them spend 2 weeks on a Chinese ventilator.
