Brought this home 38 years to the day after getting my first machine. This is the same title I let go of in 1986 and have regretted it since. This one will need a lot of work but I want to take it all the way. On a side note my pinhauler,(Honda Pilot), broke down, (ignition locked up), literally when I jumped in to leave so I jumped in my most recent beater purchase, ( $400 ,2003 Subaru legacy), insured it as I was driving out of town and made the pick up.

Bluespin knows, He alerted me to the ad! It was tight in the Subaru with my 18-year-old son in the back seat but we were motivated!

#18840 3 years ago
Quoted from pinostalgia:

every house needs a beater

I have kids who started driving. First my coworker sold me a 2004 civic for $200. Same coworker 2007 Ford focus,...$200. then the Subaru came along for $400. I keep buying cheap cars because I figured my kids would run into something but nobodies crashing so I have a fleet of beaters. I also have a 2001 mustang, 72 Porsche ,65 Volvo and the Pilot. I need to start crashing or liquidating the fleet!

That's the look I get when I get home with a new pin and realize the power is out!

That looks really clean. It's also the super rare left plunger version. Is it right hand drive?! On a serious note does it have the red or orange Meteor?

Quoted from Epistaxis:

Add one more project to the pile.
[quoted image][quoted image]

Another red Meteor, interesting.

#20217 2 years ago
Quoted from rcbrown316:

how do you recognize the red part? not too familiar with this dynamic but have seen it mentioned a few times recently.

The meteor around the pop bumper has red in addition to the other colors. A lot of them are orange without the red.

Quoted from Jamesays:

make it or break it for new records was great as well.

Listening to Lamont and tonelli on ksjo commuting from mt view to Campbell with my best friend in '87 was some great times.

Quoted from PlanetExpress:

My first pin! Rock, Rock!
Spent today cleaning 30 year’s worth of grime out, along with stripping off the trashed Mylar and laying down the replacement that came with it (paint is so easy to damage on this non-diamond playfield that I either needed to add fresh Mylar or clear coat). Prior owner bought new plastics, Mylar, flipper rebuilds, but then didn’t do any of the work.
I’ve got new rubber and bulbs coming, so I’ll do the plastic replacement then. Thankfully, all the plastic damage is on the stuff included in the CPR kit it came with, none of the impossible to find parts are damaged (Cliffys on the way to keep it that way, too).
Wish I had a tumbler, my hands are beat up from polishing the 1/4 mile of wire frames in this game
[quoted image][quoted image]

Great first pin. I love Rollergames

Quoted from skywyatt:

Six hours round trip in 100 degree F temps and it's home - our second machine, first project and proof that we are infected with silver ball poison. A battered and bruised Black Knight LE. The guy we got it from did a lot of work making it play but tapped out when it came to doing the cabinet and playfield. It plays really nice but looks pretty bad.
The plan is to put it next to our Taxi and play the snot out of it while we decide where to go from here.
I guess getting it out of the truck is the first step. More coffee....
(long time lurker, first time poster, hi all!)

The one out of Hollister?

#20942 2 years ago
Quoted from skywyatt:

Yup! Nice guy, machine was as described in the ad. The Escape From the Lost World he has for sale looks nice. If only we had the extra cash right now.

Cool. I wanted it but would have heard about it had I had a chance to grab it!

Grabbed a Top Score on Sunday. 2 miles from home. First EM for me.Came with the rare 22" legs. Score motor running continuously so I've been reading up on EM stuff. Last pic is the Facebook screen shot. 50's era, LOL

Quoted from Manny65:

That's gotta be the best mushroomed plunger I've ever seen!

There were three broken shooter tips in the bottom of the cabinet. The shortened legs are what threw me. They chopped 5-6 inches off the bottom of the legs, over lapped and welded.

This one's kind of unfair since it's a cabinet repaint. That having been said, I added a shot of the playfield, not a clear or detailed one but someone will figure it out. You folks amaze me. No cheating,BTW.

Quoted from AlexF:

I'm guessing Williams Stop-N-Go? Coin plates give it away as 60s Williams. Looks like reverse flips, although I think it would have had red originally.

You're absolutely right. I'll take blurrier pix next time! Thanks for the mention of the red flippers. I was curious about that.

I feel your pain. I brought home a machine last Thursday from being repaired. The game had been broken the whole time I owned it. Got it home, went to put the backglass back in and snnnnaaaappppp!

I'm the proud co owner, my friend and I went in halfs ,maybe the 2 of us can keep an EM workin!!
So gorgeous, brunettes everywhere.

I put that door and coin slot in my spank bank! Seriously, save some shiny for the rest of us!

Quoted from VALIS666:

Wow, gorgeous!! Congrats. I have a Tropic Isle in similar condition, if I'm ever looking to move mine or you're looking to move yours, I'll contact you first. These two pins need to be in the same room one day.

Sounds like you guys need to get a room!

Quoted from Spyder138:

Local pickup 35 minutes from home. The machine is in pretty decent shape and should clean up nicely. It had been sitting covered in a warehouse for 20 years and probably hasn't had the rubbers changed in 30. Time to place a PBR order tomorrow. FYI, next vehicle will have leather seats. The bulldogs like to ride with their front legs on the center console and shed like crazy on the cloth seats.
[quoted image]

Congrats, I saw that listed and it looked nice.

Yea, he was happy when I got into EM's. BK2K had a little too much going on for him. I was happy to get Soccer, since I love the backbox animation. He has Top Score at his house and really enjoys it.

Quoted from Colsond3:

Hey there!!! I had a real nice one of these that I actually powdered and restored, but sold it last year. Playfield was so cherry… not even a ball track. Really it’s the equivalent of some EM games, and great if you have small kids around.
And I still have the home use CF (and a real one waiting to be restored).

Colson, if I remember correctly you also restored a Wico big top. That looked awesome as well!

Also picked up this little gem, a 1964 Williams Stop N Go for a long time traffic light collector friend and brand new pinball owner and Pinsider briandsmia [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
The yellow 4 way light is going to be a topper [quoted image]

That stop n go looks nice! Mine is horribly faded and has a repainted cabinet. Challenging to play for sure.

Quoted from KSUWildcatFan:

I'm not really sure this counts but I picked up a whole slew of cocktail stuff (7 complete games plus extra glasses and playfields--and still left one behind) from a friend who has moved from Kansas to Arizona/Vegas. I only unloaded the truck, opting to just park the trailer in the shop to deal with later. I'm tired.
Most all of these will just be shopped and sold I believe, along with his f14 which I've already finished shopping. Just trying to be helpful where I can be, I guess.

There's a person in the cocktail club thread very recently that needs a glass for an allied leasure I think.

C. Have a wife who's a keeper

Been casually looking for a baseball EM and found a bargain Homerun today, or I should say it found me.
Only 580 produced back in 71’ - so on the uncommon side, and this one had been in the previous owners family since 1978 as a Christmas gift.
I love the backglass on this one! [quoted image][quoted image]

Love that one. Congrats!

Quoted from pyrotech:

Thanks I have too look into it.

There's a thread here all about modifying the handle. I used flag pole mounts like a lot of others here. It allows you to lay the handle back to get further under the machine.

That brings back memories. We used to bring a butter knife from the college cafeteria and use it to bridge the “run” buttons with your middle finger as a pivot. We could wail on those babies for serious high scores and World Records.

In Hawaii we used chop sticks or a pencil!
