Cool machine, but not sure if I'd ever want Frankenstein to follow me home...

I did this this past weekend too, had pins packed up and shoved in spots with no room in my garage (not enjoyable to stand there and play) in addition to some new-to-me pinball machines I was already bringing down there and finally decided to officially make my basement my second game room despite slight water worries (which are now getting worked on but since they're on legs I'm not worried too too too much for the time being). It honestly felt like everything I brought down was new to me again and I'm still not done yet. It felt like I just picked everything up again, for real. The Wild Life had a bad leg bracket so it sat 1/4-set-up on a stool in my garage for over two months between other games that weren't really being played either, so the first time I got to play it FINALLY was when I brought it down there, and fixed the problem. It plays absolutely 100% perfect and ran like a charm immediately after being re-setup, glad it finally gets to be enjoyed. Hooray!

Also held family for Easter and that was a big factor for getting a lot done. It went over great and there was a lot of friendly competition, particularly on Wild Life since it was working the best. I just got done completely going through Airport too, plays like a dream and it was very gnarly and not working before. It was baaaaad, now it's cleaned and waxed and repaired for the first time in likely decades.

Hard work doing it all in basically one go but it feels like a dream down there now and like I said doing it that way it felt like I just got 6 brand new pinball machines all at once.

Wired up a beautiful new set of outlets (seen on the pole) and I was good to go. I kept it in view because it's a big nostalgia factor to me because I used to think it was cool back in the campgrounds I played these machines at (they were already very old at that point and I thought the old looking cords and plugs looked cool, much different than what I was used to and very "commercial" feeling, I used to mess around and unplug them and plug them back in and thought it was super cool how all the electricity worked etc.), I've always loved electricity and even today I think it's cool of all the different shapes and sizes the plugs on these machines come in. I can't explain it and it probably sounds pretty weird but it might look messy to some so I figured I'd throw that info in there. Also obviously much easier to unplug them temporarily which of course needs to happen sometimes during repairs or even just quick (but unsafe) fixes.

Thanks guys! Thanks ibuypinballs, very happy with all of them granted they needed a little love besides the Wild Life. Magnotron still needs some work to make it more playable than just hitting the ball around but it'll be a fun project sometime soon and can't wait until it's done. I'll be sure to stop by.

It is secured to the pole with removable heavy duty mounting strips, and properly grounded through the wire itself of course which also extends to the box itself. Picture doesn't do it justice and the wire is flush with the pole nearly all the way up. Goes up and over the duct over to another outlet where it gets it's power from initially. Code is a lot more lax in "unfinished" basements, which mine certainly is. I'm far from an idiot I'd like to think.

A very worthy Spin-A-Card, from Pinfest!

Mint original paint all around besides repainted front-of-head (however they did tape off the detail paint, which was nice), very mint (dirty) playfield with absolutely no wear at all besides two very little marks which might even just be dirt. Pristine plastics. Backglass will need to be replaced (and will be, one day) but even as is it's not a big eye sore. Has hand painted pop bumpers and faded pop bumper caps but everything bad on this thing is replaceable/fixable definitely including that! I had to tweak the pop bumpers at the show because they were shotgunning off the hook with the slightest movement and it doesn't look like it was mechanically maintained at all (spin stepper has a nice little ring where the contacts spin through the thick dirt, spin pulse unit doesn't work, etc.) but I'm also open to a nice mechanical project and sometimes even prefer it! Game fully works already though which is always a plus! (It can run without that unit functioning, it just jumps to the next card instead of a random card)

Limited myself this year to nice condition wedgeheads (and, honorary wedgeheads) and SS games since I'm running out of room and want to only buy what I absolutely want nowadays to finish off the space I have left and stuck to it, looks like I got a great deal too! I do not have space for any junky condition games anymore and this one definitely fits the bill as collector quality, probably one of the best examples anybody could find of this title! Very low play machine. Wedgehead row begins!

Glad you found another one. I know you really wanted the one back you sold me, but I still to this day love it too much to let it go to anybody and you were always my first candidate to sell it back to if it came to that as promised back then. Looks like your new one has a nicer playfield too. Awesome!

Thought this game was fun at Allentown, awesome color scheme you don't see too often that's definitely 70's. Love the light peach color on the backglass, I've like never seen that used before. Something about all of the art (and reels fitting in like perfectly) is just very cool to me, hope to pick one up someday.

I really liked how when you rollover a pin it lights on the backglass, very awesome feature that reminds me of the AMF "pindication" system used in old-time bowling facilities.

Also a sucker for bowling machines after working with my dad at his short span at a bowling alley, he didn't like it and quit but I'm putting in my application in a few months after June when I'm ready and don't have other obligations. A nice mix of solid-state and mechanics, and also EM traits, just how I like it! The 9-pin has a switch on it's holder to tell the machine it's done cycling, reminds me of 0-position contacts/switches on pinball units and reels.

I've never played the game so I don't get the Hippos reference but simply upvoted because the fact of imagining anybody here screaming Hippos at the top of their lungs sounds entertaining Have fun with it!

On the page it says legal stuff for that particularly was too expensive and the user can add it and it's basically expected but not necessarily "encouraged"

Thanks! Yes, although it may sound surprising, that is actually very common practice around here when shipping with a company rather than your own vehicle, which obviously when that way, taking it apart is preferable. I (like many others) prefer it shipping with the legs and head on when using a company, and STI (and their associates) wrap them up great and hand lift them everywhere usually. They even wear gloves. It's dubbed "white glove service", with people trained to handle things that way. I don't even think STI takes palletted games, this is their speciality per-se.

Forklifts are the issue, a lot of people who used other shipping companies ended up having their palletted games destroyed by forklift operators who either drove forks through/into the side of the machine or tried to stack something else on top of it.

As long as you make sure the seller puts 4 bolts in the head and makes sure everything is TIGHT (especially backglass latches), it's perfectly safe to do, with very little reason to not do it compared to when shipping it yourself in a pickup truck, which has many more reasons to not do it like that of course, as you seem to be aware of already. Sometimes people end up with a bent leg but mine were perfect as expected anyhow. I'm definitely glad I went the route I did. Not as scary as it sounds, and the stereotype for it being awful is based off things like pickup trucks, not professional shipping companies & trucks! I think the lack of wind velocity has a lot to do with it as well.

I'm so glad my new collecting goal of the early 70's Williams singleplayers still had bells, I didn't even realize. Music to my ears. Speaking of which, once I unload my phone of pictures I'll post some pictures of Jive Time now in the gameroom next to my '72 Williams Super Star. (in a brand new row) No clanky chimes here!

Yep! Brought it down tonight. Needs some new rubbers (they aren't awful though) and a good waxing which I'm not going to rush for but it's playable! I love the spinning wheel, even more than I thought I would. Such a cool feature, even if it adds randomness to the game.

With this many games (and projects) it is hard to make everything perfect, but going to try my best to make sure everybody has a good time!

Went down to take some pictures this morning before breakfast. I moved Super Star over from an old row into this section to start off this new row, and it looked awful all the way on the right for some reason. I have always had it on the left of a row, I guess that's why. So I moved it over and brought Jive Time down, and, perfection...

Super Star's white head rim is incorrect but they did a nice job so I'm going to leave it alone, at least for now. Super Star was at one point reimported from Denmark/Sweden, and now this Jive Time, which started it's life out in Wisconsin and I had it shipped to New Jersey from California. These machines have been places, but sure don't show any wear! I love them.

Up next in my search is either Doodle Bug/Love Bug (I really love the slight art variant enough to consider Love Bug (the AAB), really sweet), Straight Flush, Gulfstream, or Post Time. The Williams single-player "similar look" 1969-1973 collection continues.

I got a lot of games in on my new-old Jive Time. What a fantastic game! I didn't buy this just for the "similar look", I bought it because of the title and the gameplay features rather than at that point just trying to collect the bunch stated above. Really really glad I did, it was so worth it! Playfield is perfect besides the typical Jive Time flipper wear, wasn't expecting that! Blew away my expectations in that department. For once, the pictures didn't lie!

The other cool thing about this machine is that it is an EM with a skillshot! Special lites at the start of every ball and un-lites when the first point is hit (including that 1,000 point rollover, you definitely have to watch out for it!), meaning you missed the hole. Very very cool feature. This machine is set up for add-a-ball play and I'll probably leave it that way (complete with instruction cards, and even has the operator-covered replay window and state apron sticker, definitely a Wisconsin game!) and sometimes this can create seemingly endless games, so I may have to level the game a little better.

Will do, however it's a basement window behind a large bush, so there's no "direct" light (it only peeks through the side pointing away from the games, as seen in the picture; the picture made a bit of an illusion there), so it's not a current/large danger. Thanks though! I will figure something out.

Mine is from California (that would be a lot of trips in 11 years!), and this one has a few missing unique things like the state tag and the covered credit window, so this one isn't my machine.

No, the reason the single-player games are more desirable is because it would have been literally impossible to make a multiplayer Sky Jump back then, or at least without adding 4 more units to the game. (Waaaay too expensive)

The reason is, is because the multiplayer games cannot hold "states" between balls. Everything need to be reset for the next player so they are built around objectives that need to be completed during that ball, every single one of them, even if there is only one player playing (of course, lol).

The single player games have longer, more diverse & and deeper objectives/rulesets that are continued throughout the entire game usually. Both are fun in their own way. Multiplayers are equally as hard and challenging because you only have 1 ball to do it (people like to discriminate against these a lot but I love them, plus COMPETITION!), while the single player games are hard because the challenge can be so diverse and long-winding.

Finally picked up this hard-to-find old girl (thankfully my new-to-me particular/unique example is in pretty nice condition, too! (Brought it home yesterday.) Going to be my first game on route after I clean it up (very dirty, but working) and bring it back to its glory days - to do what it did in its glory days! Been waiting for an 80's solid-state in my budget for this for quite a while (easier/better to route) and finally found one. Feels good! Exciting too, because it's been so long since I've had a solid-state! They're the ones I have the nostalgia for even though EMs became a passion after I started collecting. Not sure if I have the room but I'd like to enjoy it a little before I put it out there but who knows honestly, might just end up having to play it there! I need to get that "new game" feeling away or I'm going to be driving there every day... but also don't want to keep it in my basement forever... decisions decisions...

Only thing barer than said conditions are most 70's Chicago Coin playfields, but it looks like you found one of the better ones.

Liberty Bell is a hell of a game. One of my favorites and honestly in my opinion one of the best multiplayer games there is, and especially kicks Gottlieb's multiplayer selection's ass that time around a little bit as much as a fan as I am. Fast as lightning. That is one you should really tune up, clean up, and enjoy before selling it off if you were planning on it.

(and yes, it has factory DC power to the pop bumpers and possibly the flippers as well! )
