Brought this bad boy home today!

Congrats on the game but damn that face never gets easy to look at...

Quoted from Mopar:

Just curious, what did you pay?
There's a few Pitch and Bats that's not your average Pitch
and Bat, and that Genco is one of them.. It's a Homer..

I paid about 1400 euros for it. How did I do?

Also: what do you mean by 'It's a Homer'?

Just rethemes > HS2 into Cars1 and Indy500 into Cars2. Both have Pinsound cards and I changed all the original sounds/music into the Cars movie sounds/music. Custom translights. And lots of custom interactive mods.
My kids love Disney Cars. And with Cars3 coming out this June we thought and Cars pins would be appropriate!
Still working on both pins. Slow, but a fun retheme project.

Amazing. You are my new hero! Holy grails of Cars.

He meant Homer as in "home run".... Great score!

#4806 2 years ago

Haha...yup. I saw the playfield first myself. Then I saw the backglass and cabinet...ugh

Quoted from TopMoose:

Well that doesn't look too...

GAH!

Quoted from Chosen_S:

So awesome!!!!!!!!!!
You could use Mustang for Cars 3, or maybe viper night driving, or corvette or ...
I can't get over the rethemes, great work!

Thank you!

Originally I was going to use a Nascar for Cars2. But hated the game play so much I had to get rid of it. Mustang for Cars3 would be great! And not a bad idea on Viper or Corvette. Have to wait until June 16th when Cars3 movie is released.

I assume Pinball browser to change the sounds for Mustang?

Ill do a separate post of Cars and Cars2 with some HD videos of the custom music and call outs. However, it will be a few months.

In HS2 when you lock one of the balls and the girl on the video says "Nice Car!" I replaced her voice with Mater's >"Ka-Ching" its pretty funny. Originally I wanted to use "You have a purty mouth!" But that wasn't very age appropriate.

I just looked up the Euro to dollar conversion. That would be a smoking deal in the U.S. Congrats on a great game at a great price.

Others that were bidding must have not known its
value either, which turned out good for you..
You did very well.. (T)

Good grab. I went all the way to Dallas to get one when I could have just gotten one right here.

That's very nice to hear. Thanks guys!

I think that the other bidders might have been too involved with the real cherries in the auction. The collection that was being auctioned was a sight to behold, with some real stunning pieces of coin op history. Unique in Europe.

A drive to the NC Mountains netted this Fireball Classic,my own personal "Grail" 30 years in a nice home, the couple downsizing.Back glass is really nice front and back, very little play field touch up needed, cabinet actually has non-faded original colors with a few hard knocks.
Boards original and nice, the couple had a service guy in now and then to replace the memory battery (no acid damage!) and keep new rubber on it.
The game needs 2 pop bumper caps. The volume control (just like one I had 10 years or so ago) is either on or not.
I played the Classic when it first came out and this one is just as fast and smooth, amazing really. I played the Fireball EM when it first came out for a year or so,and I prefer the Classic.
Especially one nice and cared for.

Another Mystic sitting in storage for 15+ years.
Everyone should play this title at least one for the Illuminati theme.
D1M playfield, minimal wear, superb backglass and cabinet.
Board set overhaul rebuild required with resoldering and repinning of all displays and connectors.

Summer 2017 restoration project.
"Pinball collectors are like big game hunters. We know what we want, what it looks like, remain patient, and strike only when the the target is clearly in our sights. We do not chase dreams, play games, or get in on or offline bidding wars."

Final photo was another backglass added to the archive racks of "The Stronghold". Playboy (Bally, 1978). Overall superb, minor scratches. Fortunately the packing tape was only on the front of the glass, or it might have been a disaster. "Offer acceptable to condition", no crazy current pricing, and the iron was struck when hot. I think a couple of people might be unhappy, but you have to know pinball buying rules.

Pictures of the interior of Lucky Hand and Ship Ahoy are in the "show us your EM games" thread, sorry about that. Had to step out to an appointment with my daughters doctor and clicked on the wrong link.

#4837 2 years ago

Ship Ahoy now running at 100%!

Be a few days before Lucky Hand can be looked it, have work to do tomorrow..

P.S. SN is scrubbed out as someone posted the SN from one of the games I'm restoring over at the SN Database without permission for doing so or use of photo which wasn't cool.

Got it super cheap. For the next workmates pool, pinny and pissup get together i'm planning on strapping small shot sized bottles of various liquor to the batch of toys i will be putting in there. Got it set on easy grab so the rule will be "lift a toy with a shot attached, you gotta scoff it" and of course the whole top layer of toys will be "Charged" so to speak

Brought home my 3rd 1976 Bally 4-player game -- Flip Flop. It spent almost its entire life in one family's houses. Apparently, I was so excited, I forgot to snap pics at pick up, but got pic of it with the other two.
