I've owned both - you'll love them!

Road trip to Bedford Indiana yesterday netted a pretty nice 1974 Magnotron. CL ad - I got there first!
I corralled my 28 year old son and we spent 6 hours of quality time driving there and back.
Machine $250 - burgers $15 - experience - Pricele$$

Remember how you used to buy albums based solely on the cover art? Well Magnotron was like that for me. I threw tons of quarters into that machine thanks to that stupid awesome backglass.
Quoted from o-din:My friend Surfsidedetail hooked me up with this real nice Flash Gordon today.
Thanks buddy!
NICE!
That era Bally is my favorite.
There isn't much evidence that it spent much if any time in an arcade. Or at least that it was ever played that much. But it will be now.

I hate you. You came right in my back yard and stole a pin out from under me. Why don't you stay in your own state where the pins flow like wine and the women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano?
Good find.
Quoted from dmbjunky:flock like the salmon of Capistrano?
It's tourists that flock to Capistrano, my friend.
Quoted from Rondogg:Magneto followed by Magnotron.
Magnotron is metal though (apparently), so Magneto would whoop his ass.
Not today, but just picked this beauty up last weekend!!! Waited for a nice one of these for a long time...so thanks to Pinjunky for a smooth transaction and giving me first dibs. I changed the cellar to blue LED's, but other than that game was plug and play. I think at 17 miles round trip, it's practically the shortest distance I've ever driven for a pin. This game rocks...awesome, and fit right in with the horror pin line up like a long-lost brother!
Even Little Chiefs need love...

It's pretty grimy. Looks like something was spilled down the front. All of the red from the cab and backglass is faded. The Williams cabs of this era are pretty crappy. It's flaking off everywhere. I'm gonna see if I can get it running again. The layout looks interesting.
I bought it a couple of months ago. It was at a yard sale a guy was having less than 10 minutes from the house. He had five arcade games, Little Chief, DK Jr. mini, Super Pac-Man, Afterburner Climax Standard, and an EM Bingo. None of them worked. Super Pac-Man would turn on but the screen didn't work. He said it did earlier that day. The bingo was in pieces and I decided to let that one go. He wanted $150 for Little Chief and $150 for Super Pac. The other games didn't have prices and were in the back of this big building he had stuff piled into. I gave him an offer of $300 for the four games. He said unprompted he would throw in an Apple II computer I was also looking at that was priced at $10. So for $290 I got 4 games.

Today I had a day off and decided to bring them home though the Afterburner would have to wait because I didn't know how to take it apart and it wouldn't fit in the Jeepster still together. I brought the two arcades first and then the pin. The coin door on the Super Pac was padlocked shut so I reached around from the back and loosened the bolt by hand. Imagine my surprise to look in the coin box and find this.

Final tally. 94 bucks even. Who says you can't make money buying arcades.
I'm starting to think I need to go pick up that Afterburner real quick.

Wow great deal! Enjoy the Little Chief. It's the game I grew up playing & it's what got me into the hobby as an adult. And +1 for another Little Chief in Indiana.
Scratch one off the wishlist!
Bit of an impulse buy since my basement is gutted and my other machines are all wrapped up in plastic but oh well. That just means this ones goes in the living room.
Seller was actually heading right thru my town for another pickup so we met up on his way. Threw him a little extra for saving me 9 hours and tolls. Just need to seal the backglass and update the power cord.
Quoted from bigd1979:You just added the best of the bunch imo..... u just need a mb to finish that lineup....
Quoted from Scotty78:Sharkey's Shootout came home with me today. My first DMD game!
Sweeeet...love the art on that game. Nice choice.
Of course u do.... awesome lineup
Quoted from weaverj:i'll admit, Paragon looks badass.
i guess i have to play AFM. i just don't get it.
I didn't like afm of any of the fan layouts when i first got into the hobby eaither. But after owning lots of different style pins i have come to appreciate games like afm, mb, mm ,met and things like that. Afm, mb and mm are some the best pins ever made and are just so much fun to play compared to everything else ive owned .
Quoted from Blazed:After being pin free for 6 months.... These 3 followed me home this weekend.
Uh - you are out of gumballs!

I have played the one at the Ann Arbor Pinball Museum. Just don't get it.

The CL ad just had a few pics and a phone number and the word text. I figured why not? She replied that it turns on (lights up - does not reset) and she wanted $250 - so I asked if I could come look at it and she said comeon over. Sorry I grabbed it before you could. (LIE)
BTW - its the swallows of Capistrano

What a beauty!
Quoted from YeOldPinPlayer:Today's find - Earthshaker! Board corrosion, playfield inserts lifting. Lots of work ahead.
Congrats on your purchase. I would fix or replace that MPU and then just play the hell out of it. Get on the CPR list to get a new playfield, and swap it once you get one. http://classicplayfields.com/order.html
