Quoted from chalkup8:

First B/W DMD Force? Hope it all goes well for you.

Yep, I've serviced a few for other people, but this is the first WPC DMD I've actually owned. It had an attractive price and the playfield was in excellent shape.

Quoted from Number41:

Look forward to seeing progress on this and how it turns out!

I'm planning on starting a restoration thread on this one soon

Looks great! I have a lead on an Addams local to me, I hope it works out, maybe soon, I'll be posting it here.
I like your choice of LED's, they looks nice, I like the pop caps too, the fish paper looks like it diffuses the Light well

I took the plunge and got my first Non-NIB. Bought them as a set, hey! they're cheaper that way! I have lots of learning to do. Xenon works sometimes, sometimes it just hums loudly instead. Seemed to be a decent price for players condition games.

#2859 7 years ago

Ah, Silverball mania. The first (only?) pinball with simulated rear-entry sex on the BG. Not a big fan of the game, but just love the xenon. Great score.

#2860 7 years ago

Nice score with both games. I always found humor in the Silverball art that SadSack just referenced. Xenon is a great game, but she can be a bitch sometimes. One game you put up 7 figures, the next you barely even use the flippers.

At the 2013 NW pin show, a buddy of mine (who has the pin) went to a presentation by Kevin O'Conner - the artist on this pin -, & he got up & directly asked about the "graphic" artwork.......

Picking up a Gottlieb Genie today. Been in a friends garage for several years and I have been asking when he wants to get rid of it. He finally called saying he wants to park his car in the garage now. Has not been set up in a long time so expecting non-working but price is right.

It is missing the legs and the lockdown bar - second game in a row now with no legs. So can someone tell me what size I need? The lockdown bar will be the harder item to locate due to widebody. Thanks in advance.

It's a good weekend when you bring home a classic Bally!

I picked up this guy over the weekend. Still sore after wrestling it down the stairs and setting up by myself. Naturally, we had to break it in with a party Saturday night. 120 plays in 3 days! Loving this game.

I'm fairly new to this and am taking the bottom feeder approach for two reasons. It doesn't cost as much if I ruin a machine while I learn how to work on them. I also have my discretionary pinball spending throttled (wife card). This is my third pin since March and second nonfunctional pin. This one will be my first SS project.

I grabbed this awesome Breakshot from ZMeny.
You can buy with confidence from Zach. Outstanding comms, upfront, & honest. Another buyer who picked up two pins before I got there offered him more money for the Breakshot I was buying. (DBag move)
Zach turned them down flat. He even gave us beverages for the trip home. I would buy from him again & is welcome to come play at my place anytime. Great Pinsider.

Thanks Brother,
Lee

One of the best Silverball Mania play fields I have ever seen. They are usually trashed. Nice pick up.

That's good to hear. Bought it from a retired man who had it in his son's damp basement for the past six years. His wife gave it to him when he was in grad school ~1980. The biggest challenge will be the cabinet. Plenty of signs that it wasn't moved with care. I think a repaint may be in the future down the road.

I'll eventually post some detail pictures on a Silverball owners thread.

Bottom feeder is the the price point I look at. Pins I can buy for $400 or less. But who knows how much I'll have in it by the time I'm done.

Looks like it's mylared. Clearcoating the playfield should make it beautiful, but removing the mylar is not without risk...

#2888 7 years ago

What they all said. Great looking Silverball, the backglass from your picture looks nice too. Cabinet repair is nothing compared to playfield repair.

Yes, it's mylared. I didn't notice until late last night. No point in messing with that when I have bigger issues to solve.

I pulled the mylar off a Mr. and Mrs. Pacman and regretted it immensely. Get some novus 2 and polish it up and you'll be golden.

So jealous...I've been trying to hunt down a decently priced Xenon for some time now. Nice grab!!!

And to think you didn't spend all that time you've been waiting to paint that poor San Francisco!

#2897 7 years ago

I've never seen that game before...interesting. Nice find!! Those early Williams EM's weigh a ton with the tapered front on the cab...I had a Pot O' Gold before...my first pin ever. That game was a beast...but cool bagatelle for bonus in the backglass.

#2898 7 years ago

IMAG1735_(resized).jpgIMAG1735_(resized).jpgI took the the stern plunge on this today. Less than 50 plays with custom pink armor.

Thanks MrBellMan!

#2899 7 years ago
Quoted from Otaku:

And to think you didn't spend all that time you've been waiting to paint that poor San Francisco!

Nah, I am too busy shopping them out and keeping them running to worry about paint. Someday a San Francisco with decent original cabinet paint and a beat playfield and backglass will show up for cheap, and I will switch some parts around and take the lessor one to auction.

#2900 7 years ago
Quoted from Colsond3:

Solid as can be. They dropped the front and made the bottom plywood thick to hold all the money it could take.
