Quoted from BorgDog:

not really a pinball machine, but a 1952 EM pool game. mostly works, just a few things to tweak, once fully working will get a refresh.[quoted image]

Was this for sale in Libby MT? I saw it listed recently and was curious about the machine and how it works. Glad to see that it went to a fellow Pinsider!

Can you please post the rules and/or how it works when you get this 100% functioning? I noticed one on ebay if you need to know what the felt graphics look like.

Yes, was the one in Libby. I'm in the process of moving to Spokane so it was a much shorter trip than Leavenworth.

Here is a thread showing the restored one that's currently on ebay. He has rules listed, but he had to infer some. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/1950-chicago-coin-hooligan-pool-restoration

The guy I bought this one from has an original manual, but his wife put it somewhere for safe keeping and he couldn't find it when I was there, he says he will mail it to me when his wife gets back in town (I hope so, seemed like a nice trustworthy guy).

If he can’t find the manual try calling Pinball Resource as they have a lot of older manuals and schematics not on ipdb and he can make you a copy.

Got a great Evel Knievel project machine. Will give it the CPR playfield treatment as this one is blown out. The backglass is beautiful and cabinet is not bad. One of the legs got "Beltmannized" somewhere between West Virginia and Arkansas. Will have to replace that and repair some cabinet separation in the front. They hold themselves out as game shippers but they aren't any better than any other company and likely worse than many. Won't use them again. Still happy to have a fairly inexpensive EK to restore.

I woke up and I get a call out of the blue from an electrician who did some work once or twice at our place and knows I collect games. He said someone moved into town and has a single pin that he wants to get rid of as they were remodeling. I said what is it? He said it’s called ‘Black Hole’. I said oh, that’s a good classic game! I’m not looking for one at the moment but what does he want for it? He said, I think he just wants the space so see if you can make him an offer, come and pick it up today. I said Oh, OK. I get there and it’s basically sitting there like this in the pic below! Hardly a scratch on it, playfield & glass almost perfect with all original boards, everything working except the kickout coil and because of this thinking has gone unplayed for many years. I won’t say what I paid but let’s just say today was a really good day! He was happy, I’m happy and so looking forward to enjoying the nostalgia.

Thanks.. yeah, feel blessed. I've heard stories like this all through the years? but something like this would never, ever happen to me so finally have a story! I guess with enough time in this hobby, everyone will have a story.

Wow, great find and fantastic pin in what appears to be excellent condition. I’ve owned a Black Hole and really enjoyed working on it. Hard game to master too. Great multiball challenge. 2 tricky ball locks, and that dreaded lower pf! The spinning backglass alone is worth keeping one around!

Thanks so much. Those are great points about the game. It’s odd, I’ve always wanted one but kind of forgot about it for so many years & just feel like I got the game by fate.. It’s totally different from anything I have so think will really enjoy working on it and playing it as well. No playfield wear at all.. it needs to be played!

Working the the deal.. for one, maybe two. Have to make it worth the trip. Gas prices you know.

Alas no 5+, going to be awhile before I break my record of six.

What’s the history on that one. It does look very nice. Had it been stored away ?

#24070 1 year ago

It was supposedly used as some kind of prop on a kids show and barely played. I guess more like a background prop. Don't know more than that but condition speaks for itself. It's like a time capsule piece.

I think I saw that 5 minutes after it listed. It was just out of my range. One of the only EMs i would buy at this point.

Wear gloves. I’ve never smoked but cleaned a nicotine pinball and felt real weird the days I was doing it. Might have been a coincidence but not sure.

If you ever want to get rid of it, let me know.
