Quoted from gdonovan:

Oh I'm not looking to strip, I'd like to bring that Galaxy back to life for my Bally/Stern cabinet. If you are going to strip it and wish to part with it LMK, I think I have enough parts to reassemble.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do with this new one. Cab and glass are okay and the playfield looks great. So I'll rob boards and displays from the reeeeeeally bad (albeit functional) Galaxy cabinet currently in my shop with the intention leaving the one really bad cabinet empty so I can start stripping it down and painting it for the Quicksilver build. The playfield currently inside that cab will have to give up its drop bank along with several other parts that I'll need.

What I got from the warehouse is about the minimum I could have gotten in order to build a Galaxy while still having my Quicksilver cabinet, but I think the resulting Galaxy should come out pretty nice.

Galaxy2 arrived tonight. Sadly, no signs of life with boards swapped over so I decided to go ahead and tear it down in order to get in and really buff it clean. Guess a new rectifier board is my next step. Blehhhhh

You could swap over the whole transformer cabinet board in a matter of minutes. It’s just six screws.

I brought this home. I’m not sure where it’s going, but for the deal I got, I couldn’t say no! $500. Works. Needs power supply work and a shop. It plays but can crash from faulty PS.

Whoa! I guess my next vehicle won’t be an Infinity! I have an EX35 that isn’t even close to moving pins. I use my wife’s Mazda CX-5, which has moved STTNG, DILE, Demo Man, and other behemoths. Moved a Safe Cracker too, but on its side.

#23182 2 years ago

I’m very surprised people would put a pin in a car/SUV like that! I would rent a Uhaul truck or van for $20 and pay the mileage bill rather than wreck the pin/car! Not to mention most people know a friend with a truck!

I sold a Millionaire a few months back, and the gentleman showed up in a Prius. By the gods, we got it to fit!

$19.99 specials for trucks on Dougall Ave Windsor. You end up paying around $50 but I’d rather do that than wreck either a pin or a car!

I can move one pin in my SUV, two in my stow-and-go minivan. Either works.

I don’t borrow trucks. The owners really don’t like loaning their trucks out. They might be nice about it but deep down they wish they didn’t have a truck Lol

I have a Stow-N-Go 2012 Dodge Caravan and I initially figured I'd be able to fit 2 machines in there...one in through the side door, and one through the rear hatch. But the heads are almost always too wide to go through the sliding door. Do you put them in through the rear hatch and them spin them 90 degrees? Or maybe just the Bally WMS heads are too wide??

Maybe its just that I like older games, but I always put heads in through the side and the bodies through the hatch. My Voyager is from 2005!

I've fit three wedgeheads in a 2006 T&C.

I fit four wedgeheads/EMs in our 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette minivan with the seats removed.

Four heads lined up like soldiers behind the front seats and the bodies side by side stacked two high behind them. My friend did the same in his Chrysler minivan at the time. We took two loads each out of this warehouse raid for a total of 16 games.

Magtag made a Skybox can/bottle dispenser for a while, but have since discontinued making them. Had quality problems with the compressor failing on many units, so beverages came out warm.
https://www.designcentral.com/work/maytag-skybox-home-vending-machine

Yep. I bought one brand new from Home Depot probably 20 years ago when they first came out. Since then bought two others used off craigslist to get parts to continuously rebuild it to keep it running. Trick is to tap the compressor line and just recharge the coolant periodically; but it’s a lot of effort and parts are becoming harder to find.
