If I had more space, I'd like to have a Marilyn Taxi someday. A tough, classic game. You need perfect shots to put up decent scores with the timed scoring features. The passenger reset after each ball makes it more challenging if you haven't collected the carry passengers. 35 years later, this machine will still kick your ass.

Does anyone know what machines of this era had the lock on the top of the backbox?

you might want to see if the motor in the backbox is working, or the 2 sliding image plates are binding. The crew should be visible until you get multiball during the game. It's a great pin very addictive.

I think that was one I owned 10 years ago. I think it was a Pinbot head I painted black. Crazy, I only remember because I put those clear pop caps on the game because it’s all I had at the time.
Last week a buddy and I purchased a collection of older games. Sadly it was from the family of a collector that passed away from covid 
.
Mostly EMs and alot of parts machines. We are going to be selling pretty much all of the games. Except the Black Belt..... Im keeping that one.
Will be hoping to start posting them for sale here soon. We have most of the Back glasses that are missing. Those were stored in another location. The cabinets that are just the bodies are just that. All missing the heads.

The previous owner that I got it from stated he put the clear caps on. I believe this was a Space Shuttle head originally. The image under the paint is definitely not PinBot, and the light insert doesn't fit correctly. I could be wrong, but there's no holes in the backbox to run wiring.

That's amazing. Hopefully you were able to give the family a fair price on everything to honor the collector that passed on, or are you helping the family to sell them all so they can get the most possible?

We worked with them and came to a mutual agreement on a fair price. Plus we are doing them a big favor by clearing out all the rest of the "non game" stuff from the unit. Anyone need any dressers? a Fridge? an Oven? LOL

LOL...Just haven't had the time to remove that atrocity...it's on my todo list
You should have seen the other "mods", like additional lighting in the backbox (why?) and on the playfield, which obstructed the top flippers.

The sticker is nice! Placement is questionable... guess they didn’t have the topper so it’s the next best thing?
Mine was LED’d by the previous owner... yikes. That thing could give you an epileptic fit. Capcoms
hate LEDs and the guy put in eye-bleeding blue for all the inserts

Capcoms had all the fancy lamp warming effects that make the LEDs go haywire. The LEDOCD board helps, but you need to dial in the settings with their app to get it looking the best. I had to spent some time when I had my Airborne to get it to look right with LEDs.

Yeah... mine is GI-LED...I go into an epileptic fit at halftime...I guess he figured out that LED insert was too screwed up. Still debating if I completely "Un-LED" it...
I wish I had the topper. I owned another FF 10-ish years ago and was able to score a topper in Allentown (misc parts trailer that looked it came from a dump in the outdoor market area) for... $5...
Should have kept it... and the NOS playfield I had as well.
I'm trying to help my friend straighten up his bad situation after getting "taken" several times early on when he got into the hobby and was unfortunately very naive. He brought Galaxy (I actually pushed him to buy this ugly thing for CHEAP because someday I'm going to convert it to a QS) and two Doodle Bugs. One has been.....poorly half-rethemed. Not really sure what to do with it to be honest, I'm thinking it might be best served as parts to other projects at this point.. it's a mess.
My shop is starting to look like a damn homeless camp: two mata hari hardtops (in progress), a night moves with weird flipper coil overheating issues, my wife's Roy Clark that's been shopped out but still needs a drop target replaced, my buddy's LAH that I've gotten working except sound (waiting on new sound ROMs) and now these three. Sheesh.
We did get to play a few games on my newest additions before he left town: bad cats and LOTR. High praise from both of those which made me happy since I've done a lot of work on both.

I'll have to check it out. I'm a long way away from being anywhere near ready to take on a QS conversion but it's definitely something I want to do. This Galaxy is in pretty gross shape (bad backglass, hiiiiilariously painted cab, meh/average playfield) but I'll make it an okay player in my shop for a bit while I move through some of these other projects.

Yeah it'll be fun for a bit. I have a hell of a backlog to clear out before a QS swap is even remotely doable (also I've not purchased PF/glass/plastics/harnesses) before then, including my never-ending EBD hardtop from hell. Though, I'm getting closer and closer to just cutting my losses on that and moving on. Don't have to worry about projects if you just abandon them!
