Quoted from Lamonsoff:

Finally picked up my first (and second) pins on New Years Day. Loving the theme and relatively simplistic gameplay of AP. A good way for the whole family to enjoy wading into the hobby. The Comet will be a summer resto job, as will cabinet work for AP. [quoted image][quoted image]

Congratulations!

Thanks! Really enjoy the restoration process, and with so much mechanical going on with pins, I’m excited to that I’m now headed down the pin path.

Arcade wise, Battlezone will be leaving to make room for a Joust…which also needs a full restore. Between the three, 2022 is almost booked up for projects!

It's been a little while since we brought a new game home...guess we were due?

Needs a little love, wax, rubbers, and maybe some LEDs eventually (all the incandescent bulbs appear to be fine!)
Credits can be added, but game won't start.

Back glass is perfect!

Previous owner had it for 22 years.

I think we have a thing for Bally?

Yes, we had the SS version. But not the rarer EM one that I'm aware of.

Thank you! Yes, it is but the game came with a Shay repro in the box also. I do need the beachball plastic for the head. I'm guessing that might be unlikely. Probably have to make one.

Snagged a WOZ ECLE (#wizardofoz) this weekend. That thing is heavy (if Pinside had a top 100 heaviest machines category, I think this baby would near the top!). I have had bad back problems in the past, but managed to unload it and move it upstairs by myself (not saying it was smart, but you gotta do what you gotta do when it comes to pinball!). Employed a nice redneck lift system to get it up the stairs, worked like a charm (yes one of those stair climbing dollies would be preferable). Is a beautiful bucket-list game for me; famous last words, but I don't plan on moving it again

Congrats. Did you actually pull it up with that comealong, or just keep that on as a safeguard? I can't picture how one person could make that work.

Congratulations!!
Did you use a winch attached to a Truck or Jeep through the window?

Thank ya! Yep I pulled it up the stairs with the comealong. The bottom of the dolly has two plastic-protected "skids". I attached the rope on the bottom side of the dolly, which pulled up the front end just a little and helped it slide up the stairs basically like a sled. I went very slow (like one or two inches per crank), but it cranked right up no problem! Just curious from your user name, is the YZF a motocross reference?

Just a comealong / heavy rope puller that I attached to a ladder braced in a door frame cushioned with towels, worked nicely Since the stairs are carpeted it slid up pretty easy using the dolly "rails".

Nice! That must have taken a while
I had a yzf600 street bike when the internet became a thing, so that became my aol name and stuck all these years.

My son and I dragged a DE Star Wars up a narrow, carpeted stairwell with a hand truck from a basement gameroom. Unnerving experience.

Nice! Glad you survived ownership. That was a dream bike for me, but probably best that I never got one I used to race MX and last bike was a YZ250F; that is a distant memory now, but perhaps I'll grab a No Fear pin one of these years as a safer alternative! Pinball is a much safer hobby for sure.

Congrats on your WOZ! You get bonus points for creativity and moving a JJP widebody up a flight of stairs by yourself. I had to employ a similar rope system to bring a Bally Indy500 up a narrow staircase to a loft for a buyer. I have an escalara now and they aren’t without some work keeping pins properly positioned while they climb. I won’t try it alone ever again! WOZ was my very first pin and still gets my vote for best art package. Enjoy yours!

Thanks! The most I have ever paid for a pinball and it's a project. With that said I think it's interesting with a production run of 235 it was still cheaper than a typical blown out High Speed (17,080 units produced).
