This weekend I pick up Moulin Rouge. Sometimes you just have to give into temptation.
My first pin that I bought and fixed up was a '65 Big Chief. Same drop front cabinet. It was pretty cool looking. Just make sure it has the shorty front legs. Those are impossible to find.

Was the drop cab just pretty much for aesthetics?
Quoted from EJS:[quoted image][quoted image]
Would love to see an after pic of that playfield after a good cleaning, wax and rubber ring swap. That looks like it’s going to clean up really nice.
Quoted from pudealee:Was the drop cab just pretty much for aesthetics?
It was to accommodate that large coin door that they only used for a year. It accepted nickles, dimes, and quarters with a single mech.
*Edit* Since this is "what did you bring home", here's how it looked when I brought it home.
Quoted from Flash71:Wow! Impressive. Nice job!
Thanks. It ended up going to a nice young lady who was buying it for her father in law. He grew up playing this at his local arcade and had been looking for one for years. I probably let it go a little too cheap, but it was a nice story, and they drove from a few hours away to get it, so I was happy to know it was going to a good home.

Nice machine. You do a beautiful restoration job. Mine are a mix of keep the antique beat up look with a thorough cleaning job, paint matching and polycrylic finish.
I like owners who part with games to homes where they are wanted and don't extract every dollar of auction worth.

I enjoy bringing back ones that are on their last leg and getting them to the point where they hopefully last another 40 or 50 years, so others get to enjoy them. I especially like to bring back some of the less popular ones that were probably scrapped more often than not. I try not to restore pins to be show pieces. I would rather they get played an enjoyed. I'll never get my money back, but I like leaving them better than I have found them.
Picked up this decent F-14 Tomcat today in a trade with another Pinsider. I was sad to see the Firepower go, but someday I'll find another. The F-14 needs quite a bit of love...gonna strip off the bubbled mylar, touch-up and clear the playfield, cabinet repairs & painting, and a new translite.
Unfortunately the beacon motor and domes were missing from the machine...so I'll need to source that. The machine was routed in the past, and has a coin-counter indicating over 34,000 credits. Machine looks pretty good considering that mileage. Overall, pretty happy! She will shine eventually

Let's see pix.
Quoted from Ballypin:had to check Flip Flop!
No. There's no "chicks" on "Flip Flop". I think it was a thing with him. He put "chicks" on backglasses where there were no women depicted. That way, he could say all of his backglasses had chicks on them!

Have fun with it John and thanks for the trade with your lovely Firepower.
I will thread her with love!
Quoted from wolverinetuner:Check one pin off the short list. Glad I’ve got some SPACE. MISSION accomplished![quoted image]
I have one. It’s a fun game. Winning extra balls and games is great.

It looks to be in great shape.

That has to be the nicest Space Mission I’ve ever seen. Nice coin door and armor. Holy crap. Is that chrome, plated or just polished to all hell?
A lot of nice games coming home to new owners.
Quoted from Colsond3:Was able to snag one myself after a brief hiatus
Best thing about your posts ..
Even though you have picked up seemingly hundreds of games. The smile on you face is like your picking up your first ever game.
Nice to see such joy!

It’s been a while. I finally found a game for under $2500 so I grabbed it. Haha.

boilerman did the restoration work on my newly acquired Moulin Rouge .

Just drove 500 miles round trip for what was supposed to be a ST pro, but turned into a blown motor instead, due to an incompetent oil change I got on Wednesday from my dealer.

What didn’t they do that caused this??!!
Quoted from Green-Machine:What didn’t they do that caused this??!!
Didn't screw that plug in all the way. Plug fell off and all oil leaked out as I was driving through the night

I hope they are going to do something for you!
Quoted from Zartan:I hope they are going to do something for you!
If they don't cover everything, I think I'll have to contact lawyer. The service advisor in Gloucester (where I was stranded), said it could run up to $14,000 to fix

Looks like that dealer is gonna eat a engine! Tech is in deep shit! That will come right off the service depts bottom line. Doh!

Awe Man! Grrrr

I sorry, but if the plug fell out how does the person have plug in his hand in the picture? Is that the new plug?

The tech inspecting it found it on top of the skid plate no doubt.

That truly sucks.
Quoted from pinball2020:Interesting car I pulled next to on the freeway. Man looks to have been in the Navy based on the decal. Bumper replaced with bamboo, arrow on side of door, Navy decal and hand with castanet cover next to gas cap?
??
I think you meant to post that in the “what car with a bamboo bumper and Navy stickers did you see on the freeway today?” thread.

I’ve been hoping to post something on that thread for ages. I’m still lookin’.

Wrong thread ... should be in the " what machine you didn't bring home today!
Seriously that sucks..
Quoted from gdonovan:The tech inspecting it found it on top of the skid plate no doubt.
Correct. And showing that there was no damage, so it must have fallen off due to it not being put in correctly

Incompetence has become the norm lately. It's like a disease.
