Quoted from snyper2099:

A 20 year long (I have bill of sale to prove it) quest of mine is complete! Behold a nice, fully working, unrestored Missile Command built from two different machines. I did rebuild the trackball after this shot.

Loved playing that back in the '80's.

In for the next two months. Someone wanted an additional power switch on the back box. Going to reverse that soon.

I wonder if that head was a wall hanger for a while and found it's way back to a machine?

They spliced in with the original power cord through both sides so I would doubt it but I don’t put anything past anyone.

I intend to record an overview of the game shortly and will likely stream most of the repairs to save on YouTube.

One of only three Williams pins with "zipper flippers". Technically, there's a fourth, but the flippers don't close for any gameplay function.

Yes sir! And that’s one thing in need of immediate attention.

Next customer!
Never worked on a Road Show before, but I must say I really like playing it
Reds eyelids don't work (but you can hear a clunk), Reds mouth doesn't open/close like it should and doesn't register shots, Reds head is loose, Teds head is loose, Teds bulldozer is crooked, Teds eyelids make a lot of noise, gi doesn't work and all legplates need to be replaced and I think I'll update the software too.

Thanks! I actually picked up Gorgar for Colson and grabbed Firepower while I was there. Only played it at shows which were of uneven quality so looking forward to tuning this one for peak performance and giving it a few rounds. Needs some repin work and some reliability upgrades to the power board no doubt. Allen Davidson has already done some board work (40 pin and NVRAM) so I don't have to worry about that.

No time for your shenanigans today. Haha. Long ass drive.

People must love pinball. Every time I’m stopped at a light or intersection people are waving and beeping.

I want a rematch with Arya. LE #403. Drop the dragon glass and choose your House!

Thanks and cool hanging @gorillabiscuits!! Awesome collection.

That’s an amazing deal. At 400 it wouldn’t matter how many you had already

Thankfully word of the captains auction prices didn’t make it to the aloha states.
Great pickup.

#21490 2 years ago

Yeah. There’s not many folks into pinball in Hawaii. No barcades at all. They don’t come up for sale often, but you can usually get a pretty good deal when they do.

It was worth a shot. I am glad to see a game like that won't rot. When you clean it up please post a few pics. It's fun to see games like this turned around.

Will do. The guy actually bought it in 95’ with sales receipt. $1295 basically brand new!

Well it's not home yet, but my friend and I picked it up from Banning Wendsday, at least I saved one from going overseas.
My friend is gonna shop it, and we will figure out what if any parts we're gonna order and replace.

All in all decent shape, one Grail off the list.

Message from the Freeeek Kingdom.

Ps. The techs at Banning never dusted the tops!
Filthy!

What is this overseas business you are talking about?

Do I read this as a reason for some of the sky high prices that were coming out of that auction?

It would actually help explain the crazy prices. Some rich dude in Dubai probably bought them all.

I’ve seen comments in several LE sale threads from overseas guys saying their aftermarket prices are quite a bit higher than ours. Prices are getting close to $20k for some of the more desirable LEs (JP, EHoH, DP, IMDN, MMR, etc).
