I brought home something really cool a few weeks ago. I already had one of the 100 made, but my dream of opening a NIB Alvin G finally came true when I picked up this particular Dinosaur Eggs! It sat for 23 years in the box. So cool to have the opportunity to unbox it!

It did have several issues right out of the box...

1. Game wouldn't boot up--> CPU ROM was bad

2. Alphanumeric display didn't work--> Turned out to be a blown fuse of the incorrect size. They stuck a 1/2 amp in it at the factory instead of a 1 amp.

3. A handful of switches didn't register--> Some just needed adjusting, but one (in a very tight space under the playfield pivoting mechanism) had the diode smashed across all the switch lugs.

4. Flashlamps weren't working--> Turned out to be a blown driver transistor

She's playing great now and spitting tickets!

I picked up Jungle Queen as a project pin through Craigslist. It was in someone's basement for 15 years and then a garage for 3-5 years. Play count is ~22000. It has some EM issues that need to be sorted out. It's my first EM pin and my first project so I expect it to take a while. Physically, it's in great shape.I love the artwork.I love the artwork. The backglass is in great shape. The backglass is in great shape. The playfield is pretty good as well. The playfield is pretty good as well.It seems to have held up well.It seems to have held up well. What is all this stuff? What is all this stuff? The problem is here somewhere. Nice score. Looks like it's in great condition. I'm guessing the 'fix' on your machine is going to be very easy. Probably just cleaning contacts on your switches.

So jealous. That thing looks like tip top shape. Congrats!

level 1 shop job on catacomb. polished PF, replaced acorn nuts, flattened plastics, new glass, cleaned rubbers(they were pretty new), rebuilt flippers, re-sleeved all coils, cleaned all solenoid-driven mechanics, wet sanded and buffed shooter rod replaced 5101's on mpu did not touch cabinet or legs. in gameroom for play-testing for a bit then I will give it the deluxe restore. very cool and complex game for 1981. wish I knew what I was doing. I can see why these don't come up for sale often.

Always have to thumbs up a catacomb, such a great game. But ya good luck explaining the rules to someone who has never played it!

Enjoy the process! Just take your time examining the architecture and thinking your way through the layout and mechs. One thing at a time. Does each relay switch on/off or off/on when it clicks? Do the reels reset to zero? Feel free to start a new thread if you'd like to share the process. Can't think of a better first candidate to start with... very nice find indeed!

Unloaded from the Ohio Show. AMH has been mine, just brought it to the show to share. All games shown going on location (maybe not Close Encounters to start, depends on space available). Also brought back a Silverball Mania that is going on location too.

Thanks, All. I know enough to do my DD and search first. I'm sure I'll be hanging around the EM Tech section trying to get a clue. At least it came with all the schematics and owner's manual. They are all in good shape for ~40 yo paper with no tears or writing but a little brittle. I'm taking those in to work tomorrow to scan them. That way I can use the scans to preserve the originals.

Yes! Finally scored got le!
This game for me, is the first good stern pinball.
Amazing game, i love it!

Not exactly to my house (yet) but tilt amusements brought these 4 beauties to my restaurant yesterday. They will be there to play till 2am Tuesday. Stop by holy frijoles in Baltimore if you're in the mid-atlantic. Great game. Deposit made.

Well, looks like I am in the running for 'turd of the year'. Picked this up today for $100 and may have overpaid at that price. Playfield and backglass aren't too bad. Cabinet is poor, especially the particle board back. Had to drill the front lock to get inside and saw some of the handiwork of the seller's "electronic genius newphew" who maintained the machine. Looks like I'm getting some of my money back as well.......

Lots of work to do on this one. Haven't decided yet if I'm going to part it out or try to do a reasonable restore.

Paid the same for an Aztec in similar shape last year. Funny thing is when I got it there was a screw in the fuse holder. Haha. I never got it to work and gave it away for free a couple months ago.

Picked up a roadshow a few weeks ago and have done quite a bit to it since I picked it up but now that it's all dialed in I can't stop playing it. since I've got the pin ive rebuilt all the flippers installed new end of strokes new rubbers color DMD LEDs LED OCD board G.I. OCD board and upgraded quite A few connectors as well in addition to taking red's head completely out in rebuilding her guts and removed nail polish a previous owner had on both of their lips. The bumpers on the ramps were also incorrect now that they are the proper bumpers it's amazing how much better the flow is, none of that ridiculous bounce back halfway up the ramps anymore! A truly underated pin that combines elements of Adams family and fun house! Next pin I'm on the hunt for is a nip-it.

Bought home in the last two weeks (crazy busy) and started another thread for the Mystic, but thought I'd chime them in here.

Saved the FC from Todd before he threw it off the roof LOL...repainted cab but couldn't let it go to the dump. Mystic grabbed from Jack O'Reilly in Lavalette, NJ. Perfect BG and head, all original boards in excellent shape. Game was damaged a little in Sandy, so going to attempt a resto and see what I can do with it. Definitely didn't want a Mystic in a graveyard somewhere.
